Eight fifteen at night in
Boston, and the sky has just begun to darken. Now sitting at my
desk in my dorm room in Thayer Hall, thinking of what I have gone
through for the past 24 hours, everything seems so blurry and
untrue. And I'm glad that I'm finally here, not bothered, writing
something on my own, while listening to my favorite music.

are recorded according to different time, see the capitalized
letter at the beginning of each paragrah, GZ for Guangzhou, LA for
Los Angelas and BT for Boston.)

The last
lesson of Senior One had a funny
ending. Our chemistry teacher, oblivious as ever, was totally into
the lesson and forgot about the whole class-is-over thing, and he
didn't stop teaching until we were reminding him quietly that it
was time to let us go. So he said that class was over, and we were
free to go.
I called my parents, asked
them to pick up my things located in the dorm and the biochemistry
building, and we went on the car and headed to the airport.
It was
slightly over six when we arrived at Baiyun International Airport.
When we were done with all the baggage stuff, my family went to a
restaurant for dinner, and then we wandered around the airport, not
aware of the time.
We accidentally went to the
gate where I supposed to check-in at half an hour earlier, and I
was scolded by the officer helping us check-in for being too late.
So I said goodbye to my parents quickly and vanished through the
long hallway, not realizing that I forgot to give them a hug or
anything that could make goodbye a bit less sad.
The rest of the process was
a blur, since I was really tired from getting little sleep on the
plane. I couldn't find a perfect sitting position to make myself
comfortable while sleeping, thus I was awaken
frequently by an aching or numb limb. When I finally made to LA, it
was approximately seven at night, and I couldn't
keep my eyes open since I was so sleepy.

After a series of things
done, I finally got my boarding pass for the next flight to Boston.
Then it was another five hours of unsettling journey, since the
air-conditioning was crazy on the American Airlines, and they
didn't provide blanket or the alike that could keep you warm. At
last I gave up persuading myself to sleep, but took out the sheet
of reading material for the first class
for The Meaning of Madness
instead. I went through like five pages, and the caption began to
broadcast that the plane was going to land in twenty minutes. So I
fastened my seat belt and waited. The scenery outside was gorgeous,
with the sun rising and all the clouds liking as if they were
cotton candies.
I arrived at the Boston
Logan International Airport at six thirty in the morning (local
time), and then I grabbed a breakfast and took a taxi to harvard
hall with a girl who also came from China. I even bumped into a boy
who used to study in the same high school as I do now, but he's now
a college student in California.

Harvard Hall. Here I was.
Finally.
I waited in a line to get
my key to my dorm, and while we were waiting in line I chatted with
the girl sat next to me, who's also living in Thayer
Hall. She's from Canada and she has very sweet
personality. Her name is Defnie and we've known each other for
quite a long tme via facebook. She reminds me of
Rachel Ross, my best friend in last year's summer camp in
Vermont.
We basically did everything
else for the rest of the day together. We moved into our hall, we
checked-in at the international office, and we checked in at the
Gutman Conference Center. We had lunch together in au bon poun,
there we met a boy who was born in Brazil but grew up in Maryland.
We three had lunch together and then went to CVS to get some
shampoo and other necessities together. They are all very nice and
sweet, though I'm not taking the same course as
they are.
After Defnie picked up her
fan in the HSA center, we walked back to our dorm
to get a rest.
I got back to my room and
my roommate wasn't yet there, so I started to unpack my things, and
when I was halfway finished unpacking, someone was trying to open
the door and couldn't do it. So I ran to the door and, splash——my
roomie showed up! Her name is Virginia and she's from Italy. She
didn't stay long, for she's going to finish the check-in process,
so I continued to unpack my things and try to organize my desk and
my room as neat as possible. Then she came back and after we both
took a shower, we met at the proctor's room and went to Annenberg
for dinner together. There aren't any boys on our set of rooms, and
a lot of people haven't checked in yet, so there were only like
seven people present at the dinner, but we were having a good time.
The food was not bad, but it wasn't really tasty. I only enjoyed
the orange juice and the blueberry yogurt there.
After the dinner I just
went back to my room and started to write things down. It's a hard
thing to keep up writing like this, since it takes time and time is
what I'm not profound in.
I'll do my best to write
down my daily life, and now I'm going to a movie at my "neighbors",
and then get a good sleep.
See you tomorrow.
