The teaching procedures:

StepⅠ Warm-up

Greeting and introduce.

T: In our English books, there are many beautiful pictures. I collect some of them.

Do you want to have a look? (Show the pictures of Joe) Joe is from the west of America. There are many fields and cowboys. They wear boots, jeans and cowboy hats.

A、lead in.

In every picture, Joe is wearing a hat. Because Joe likes hats.

B、Introduce objectives . C、Expected results

Today we’re going to learn a story about “Joe’s favorite hat”.

T: Boys and girls ,by the title of story .What do you want to know? You can speak in Chinese.

StepⅡ Presentation and practice.

Task1. Listen and answer.

T: First let’s listen to the story and with these questions.

A、Show  task.     B、Self-learning .

Q1:How many main characters are there in the story?

   Who are they ?

Q2: Where do they live?

Q3:Which hat is Joe’s favorite?

C、Communication .

T: How many main characters in the story? S1: There are two characters in the story. They’re Joe and Sarah.

S2: They live on the Puma Ranch.

S3: His favourite hat is a black hat.

T: Joe’s favourite hat is a black hat. But what happened with his favourite hat ?

Task2: Mime and learn .( Deal with Picture 4、5、6、7)

A、 Show  task.  

Activity1: Please listen again and find : What happened with Joe’s favourite hat?

B、 Self-learning .   C、Communication .

Understand the sentence: My black hat is gone. A thief, a thief.

T:What does Joe do? S: crying

Let’s mime it.

T: If you lost your favourtie thing , How are you feeling?S4: sad and angry. T: Can you try to read again?

If you were Joe , what can you do? please talk with your partner.

S1: buy a new one.   S2: call 110.

Q3:What’s Sarah’s idea?

T: Yes , Sarah writes a lost ,When you can’t find something ,you should write a lost. Here’s the lost. This is lost cat. This is lost dog. Let’s look at Joe’s lost.

Activity2: Make a lost in groups.

Let Ss read the sentences ,then have them try to stick on the paper in groups. After they finish, they can read it .

Have a check. Let Ss help teacher to stick on the board.

Tell Ss how to write a lost in daily life.

Activity3: Read and find the truth.

T: Who takes the money?

From which picture you know it?

Let Ss say their opinions.

Deal with: Sorry , Bownie . I need the hat.

I need a new dress. “Sorry Sarah, we have got the money.

Give me the hundred dollars frist.

C、Communication .

The truth : There is no thief. Just a white lie.

Listen and repeat the story.
