Catch-22是1961年出版的一部黑色幽默小说的名字，作者Joseph Heller。这部作品后来拍成电影，中文译名叫做《第22条军规》。作品是基于二战中欧洲战场盟军轰炸机飞行员的经历创作的：假如他们不想执行危险的飞行任务，必须依照军法第22条向上级申请，同时证明自己有神经病；但是，假如他们申请，那就证明他们懂得危险，没有神经病了。所以，Catch-22后来就引申为“令人左右为难的境地”。
