In order to see sunrise, I often get up early.
那时天还没有大亮，周围非常清静，船上只有机器的响声。
The sky isn’t completely bright yet, and it’s very quiet all around except for the noises of the boat's engine.

天空还是一片浅蓝，颜色很浅。
The sky is still an expanse of light blue, and the color is very pale.
转眼间天边出现了一道红霞，
In the blink of an eye, a red glow appears on the horizon.
慢慢地在扩大它的范围，加强它的亮光。
Slowly it grows larger in the area that it covers, and its brightness gets more intensified.
我知道太阳要从天边升起来了，便不转眼地望着那里。
I know the sun is going to rise at the edge of the sky, and so I keep my eyes fixed in that direction.

果然，过了一会儿，在那个地方出现了太阳的小半边脸，
Sure enough after a little while, a small portion of the sun’s face shows up at the location.
红是真红，却没有亮光。
Yes, it’s really red, but there’s no light.
太阳好像负着重荷似的一步一步，
The sun seems to be bearing a heavy burden in going forward one step at a time.
慢慢地努力上升，到了最后，终于冲破了云霞，完全跳出了海面，
Slowly it struggles to rise up, and at the end, it finally breaks through the rosy clouds and completely jumps out of the sea.
颜色红得非常可爱。
Its red color is very lovely.
一刹那间，这个深红的圆东西，忽然发出了夺目的亮光，射得人眼睛发痛，它旁边的云片也突然有了光彩。
In an instant, this round crimson-red thing suddenly emits a glaring light that’s blinding to the eyes, and the clouds beside it radiate right away.

有时太阳走进了云堆中，它的光线却从云里射下来，直射到水面上。
Sometimes the sun goes inside the clouds, and its rays come down from the clouds onto the water surface.
这时候要分辨出哪里是水，哪里是天，倒也不容易，
At this time, it would not be easy to tell which is the water and which is the sky.
因为我就只看见一片灿烂的亮光。
It’s because all I can see is a colorful and brilliant stretch of light.

有时天边有黑云，而且云片很厚，
Sometimes there’re dark clouds on the horizon, and those clouds are very thick.
太阳出来，人眼还看不见。
When the sun comes out, it’s not visible to the naked eyes.
然而太阳在黑云里放射的光芒，透过黑云的重围，替黑云镶了一道发光的金边。
Yet the light given off by the sun in the clouds gets through layers of blockades and sets the black clouds with a shining golden fringe.
后来太阳才慢慢地冲出重围，出现在天空，
Then, slowly, the sun breaks through the barriers and appears in the sky.
甚至把黑云也染成了紫色或者红色。
It even taints the dark clouds purple or red.
这时候发亮的不仅是太阳、云和海水，连我自己也成了光亮的了。
Now not only the sun is emanating light, but the clouds, sea water and I as well.
这不是很伟大的奇观吗？
Isn't this a magnificent spectacle?
