Dear Jim:

Re: Recommendation for Substitute Coach of Drama Club

I hope all is well with you in England.

It’s our understanding that you are stuck in that country due to the pandemic travel restrictions. As things develop, it’s unlikely that you could return to China very soon.

The new school year is starting in two weeks from now. Our school’s English Drama Club, thanks to your guidance, has enjoyed increases in popularity and membership. It is important that the Club will start the new school year with a bang by coming up with new shows and other activities right away. However, things seem dismal with your absence.

To resolve the situation, we hope to have a substitute coach for the Club until your return. Since you are familiar with the backgrounds of the teachers in our school, we hope you could recommend one who would be able to fill the role and, ideally, meet the following requirements:

1.     speaks perfect English, and, preferably, a foreign teacher;

2.     experienced in coaching drama;

3.     interested to participate in extracurricular activities; and

4.     likely to have sufficient spare time for coaching.

As time is running tight, your prompt reply will be greatly appreciated.
