(prepared by: alexcwlin; edited by: Adam Lam)
Hydro prices have gone up.”
Hydro rates have gone up recently.”,
1.
“rate” 的定义是: money charged per unit: e.g., rental rate,
electricity rate, postage rate (以单位计算收费:如租金、电费、邮费)
Sample sentences:
a.
Postage
rates have been creeping up in recent months.
b.
Electricity rates for this city routinely go up during the
summer.
2.
“price” 的定义是: amount of money for something bought and sold;
e.g., house prices, the price for a computer; the price of gold
Sample sentences:
a.
Gold
prices have rebounded after it hit a new annual low last Friday.
b.
House
prices in Beijing have gone through the roof in recent months.
