1. Mary's husband, James Corner, came to visit us yesterday.
2. A month has passed since May 14, the day he was bitten, but he is still alive.
3. The fact that it was held on a driving route commanding a view of the Grossglockner at an elevation of 3,798 meters, the highest mountain in Austria, attracted the interest of users.
Mary's husband, whose name is James Corner, came to visit us yesderday.

It's called "apposition", and I think in Chinese it's called “同位名词”。

The third sentence should be written a bit differently and it would be fine.
"The fact that it was held on a driving route commanding a view of the Grossglockner, the highest mountain in Austria at an elevation of 3,798 meters, attracted the interest of users."
