1. What kind of activities do you enjoy at school?
I like to do lots of sports in school. In our school, we have a very up to standard gym. we have a very nice swimming pool, basketball court, badminton court and other facilities. I like play basketball most. usually I play basketball with my best friends. Also I like to read books in our school library. reading books make a man intelligent and it offers you experience that you will probably not have in your daily life. Apart from that, I like to attend lectures offered by lots of prestigious professors. I am very curious and eager to learn. so these lectures definitely are my favorites.
2. Talk about what you like to do during spare time. Give specific reasons and details in your explanation.
I like to do lots of sports in the recreation. In our school, we have a very up to standard gym. we have a very nice swimming pool, basketball court, badminton court and other facilities. I like play basketball most. usually I play basketball with my best friends. also I like to read books in our school library. Reading books make a man intelligent and it offers you experience that you will probably not have in your daily life.
3. Your friend wants to have a more healthy eating habit. What suggestions would you give to this friend?
I would suggest my friend to eat healthy stuff like vegetables, like salad, tomatoes, and broccoli. Also, in order to have enough nutrient needed for the day, I would suggest my friend to have some sea food, like salmon, tuna, shrimp and stuff like that. They are high in protein, low in carbs. These food are actually easy to cook, you can just steam them, and eat the seafood with some limes or lemon. Another suggestion for my friends is that always avoiding fast food and junk food, like French fries, fried chickens, and hash brown, and stuff. With these two suggestion in mind, my friend can develop a very good eating habit.
4. What can we do to reduce air pollution? Give examples and details in your answer.
There are lots of ways for the city to reduce air pollution. Firstly, they can cut down the usage of cars and other vehicles, thus the car exhaust can be reduced. The decision makers should invest more money to improve public transportation, like adding more bus routes, making public transportation more accessible; develop express local trains and renovating bumpy roads. Secondly, the government should put forward some policies to punish factory who discharge lots of gas emission into the air, for example, they can impose a heavy tax on these factories. Plus, they can subsidize the environment conscious companies that use renewable energies like natural gas, wind power and nuclear power.
5. Describe a place you would like to study in.
My most favorite place to study is my campus coffee shop. when I want to read some English materials, I would stay inside of the coffee shop. when I feel like to practice my speaking English, I can always have the choice to go outside sit around the patios to read out loud. despite all these advantages, you can always enjoy a cup of good-tasting coffee. also, if you feel like to eat some snacks, you can get very delicious cookies. that will give you enough energy to study.
6. Which technology do you think has made the greatest impact on people's lives in your country. Airplane, computer, or television.
I would say that computer has the greatest impact on people's lives. Today people use computer for everything, like watching news, watching movies, listening to music, and even doing shopping on-line, computer provides lots of entertainment, it makes our life more fulfilling. Apart from that, computer is a must in a working environment, people use computer to do all kinds of work in a company, like sending emails, filing paper works, and even using excel to create tables and charts, the use of computer in workplace great improved our productivity.
7. Your university is planning to allow students to watch TV in their dorms. What is your opinion and why?
I think this is such a brilliant idea, TV programs like documentaries can be very informative, and they target different kinds of audience. They cover lots of topics like sports, animal world, history, and even religions. You can really learn a lot about all kinds of stuff. By watching TV is dorm, students can learn a lot. What’s more, students are very sometimes depressed about their school, and they need some relaxation, and I think entrainment programs on TV serve as a great way for students to relax, like reality shows, and poker game shows.
8. What is the most important quality the teacher should have?
I would say the most important quality of a good teacher is knowledge. As known to all, the teacher's job is to impart knowledge and enlighten the students' creativity. A teacher is supposed to be an expert in his or her own field, they should also have some knowledge in other fields, cuz lots of subject are related with other fields for example, geopolitical science deals with geography and politics, behavioral economics is about psychology and economics. Most important of all, a knowledgeable teacher will be more popular than a teacher with very limited knowledge.
9. Describe a time you learned a new subject.
When I was in junior high, I had to learn English for the first time, and it was really hard for me to pick up at first. The words, grammar and sentence patterns are just so different from Chinese. But with the help of my English teacher, I gradually learnt some basic words and useful phrases, and I started practicing English with foreigner whenever I got a chance, the more I acquire, the more I am willing to learn and I put more effort and I am determined to be really good in English. Now, after so many years, I am still a big fan of the English language, and I cannot live a single day without it.
10. What do you think the government should do to decrease the usage of cars or other vehicles and solve the traffic problems?
There are lots of ways for the city to decrease the usage of cars and other vehicles, and deal with the traffic jams. Firstly, the decision makers should invest more money to improve public transportation, like adding more bus routes; develop express local trains and renovating bumpy roads. Secondly, they in order to limit the number of private cars on roads, more tax should be imposed on gasoline price, and they probably should reduce the price of public transportation, and make it more accessible to citizens, so when they commute, they will only consider using public transportation.
11. Which of the following do you think is the most important for maintaining good health? Doing exercises, eating healthy food, or going to bed early?
I would say doing exercises is most important for maintaining good health. Especially aerobics like swimming, jogging, and even do some running on a treadmill, it helps you cardiovascular system. When you sweat a lot, it helps your system to get rid of the poisonous stuff within your body. Secondly, by doing exercise, you can burn lots of fat in your body, and you do not have to say to delicious food and snacks, like ice cream, hamburgers and stuff like that.
12. Talk about an activity you enjoyed doing with your family when you were a child, explain your answer in details.
My most memorable experience when I was a kid is to take the vacation on the beach with the whole family. Since, my home town is not far from a coastal city in China. We went there, enjoyed bathing in the sun while appreciating the beautiful scenery alone the seashore, like the blossom and palm trees and stuff. We tried out the sea food like salmon, tuna and even some lobsters. Apart from that, the most exciting stuff I did when visiting this nice and beautiful city was sea and water activities like snorkeling, wakeboarding and even jet skiing with my dad. But I remembered that I got a little sun though.
13. Describe the greatest period of your life and explain why?
I would say the greatest period of my life is my adulthood, by which time, I am financially independent, and I don't have to depend on anyone to survive, I will have my freedom to do things I like. Since by that time I will land a nice job and make lots of money, so I can buy things I would like to buy. On top of that, taking a job can make me to be a responsible person, and I can contribute to the organization I am working for and get a sense of accomplishment.

I would say best way to find an answer is to search the internet. Cuz, the teachers are sometime busy with all kinds of stuff, like teaching and research, and frankly, it is pretty tough find an answer to a specific question by reading a book. However, with internet, we can just search whatever we want to know on the search engine like google and bing. We can just type in the question we need to know and then in a second, there is a list of answers for to refer to.

Talking
Personally, I would say to choose travel to other countries brings the most benefit. Experiencing new and exciting things gives children and teenagers a chance to know the outside world. Through travelling, they can experience things that they would never have a chance to experience if they stayed in my home country. On top of that, travelling around makes them more well-rounded. By travelling around the world, they got a chance to talk to locals and get to know their culture, customs and way of living. By interacting with them they can broaden my horizon and have new perspective on things. These experience will benefit them enormously in their future life.
16. Which of the following activities do you prefer to do with friends? Taking a walk, going to a movie, traveling to another city.
Since lots of cities in my home country China are very unique and distinctive, I would choose to travel to other cities. Just taking a walk or going to movie with friends are just too boring, and they are not special enough for us to remember when we look back the day we spend together. By travelling to other cities, we got a chance to talk to locals and get to know their culture, customs and way of living. By interacting with them we can broaden out horizon and have new perspective on things. These experience will benefit us enormously in their future life, we can also connect more with each other while travelling.

1. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement that artists need to be talented to be successful.
Personally, I would say to be successful as an artist, one needs to be both talented and hard-working. I admit that there are some talented artists who are really talented, and they seem to be natural born musician, like Eddie Van Helen and Jimmy Henderix. Jimmy changed the way of guitar performance, and made great contribution to rock music. Eddie Van Helen is also pretty smart and he created another technique in guitar playing. Actually, both of them are hard-working and motivated musician, they worked very hard. Based on these reason, I think artists need to be both talented and hard-working in order to be successful.
2. Do you prefer going to live music events or listening to recorded music.
I would say I'd love to go to live music events, like a concert and enjoy the music. When watching a live concert, you get to interact with the singer, and you are actually participating. Rock music is especially better in a live concert, you can feel the rage, the passion or even the anger of both the performer and the audience. Live performance allows the artists to express themselves a little more than what you would find on a CD , and they can get really spontaneous. Recorded music is kind of dead, twisted, and it is not as vivid and real as the live music.
3. Some would like repetitive jobs, others prefer to get job that allows them to do different stuff. Which one do you prefer?
Personally, I would like to get a job that allows me to do different stuff. I really cannot imagine a position that is repetitive and boring; I do not think I can be productive and efficient at all. Apart from that, when you have have a chance to do different stuff, you have to communicate with more co-workers in order to finish your task. There are numerous benefits when interacting with others, like you can have new perspective on things, and human beings are at least social being.
4. Some people believe that it is better for children to grow up in big cities. Others believe that it is better for children to grow up in rural areas. What is your opinion and why?
I would say it is better for children to grow up in big cities. The facilities and the atmosphere will be very beneficial to kids to grow up in a city. For example, kids are likely to get better education, medical treatment, and even social welfare. However, kids that live in the country are not that lucky. Apart from that, a big city is multi cultural and full of dynamics, there are people from all over the country and even from around the globe. Getting a chance to experience different languages, customs and cultures will benefit the kids a lot when they grow up and it will make them a better and well-rounded person.
5. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: Students should have some working experience such as doing a part-time job before going to college.
I would say students should definitely have some working experience like taking a part time job before going to university. I have the following reasons for support. To begin with, you can make some money out of any part time job, and by saving up lots of money, you probably can pay some part of your expensive college tuition, and buy things you are interested in. On top of that, doing a part-time job helps to make someone a responsible person, by working with co-workers, you can develop social skills and organizational skills, which are fairly important for one's future career, and that might give you a better shot to land a sweet job after graduation in college.
6. Would you like to make friend with different interest or the one with same interest? And why?
I would like make friends with different interests. Even though it might be easy for two people with the same interest to be friends, as the saying goes birds of the same feather flock together. By making friends with people of interest interests, we can get a chance to know more, like, we can know more in different fields, if your friend happens to be a car fan, you will broaden your knowledge about different types of cars. Also, your friend can learn something that he is not very familiar to him, it is always a good thing to learn from others and have something to offer at the same time.
7. Some people like to collect old things such as newspapers. Others throw things away after they have used them. Which do you prefer and why?
I am the kind of person who likes to keep old things especially like newspapers, book I read in the past and . even the football I used to kick around. These things help me to document important milestones and memories. Particularly about the newspapers, newspapers record lots of major event in sports, politics and even the entertainment. I am a big basketball fan, and I follow the NBA very closely, I clip out the stories covering NBA finals every year and I collect them. I keep these precious documents not only for myself but also for the next generation to come. For these reasons and more, I find it very interesting to hold on to things from the past.
8. Some people prefer to buy innovative high-tech products like cell phones and computers when they first came out, others would buy them after the price has been decreased. Which do you prefer and why?
I would say I like to buy innovative high-tech products after the price goes down, and I have a few reasons for support. First and foremost, products with cutting edge and state of the art technology are usually very expensive when they first come out, and as a college student I do not have lost money to waste on that, cuz I have to pay college tuition, textbooks and stuff like that. Additionally, we consume technological products for its convenience and they will be as valuable and convenient as they firstly show up in the market, so it is more advisable to buy that after a while.
9. Some people would like to live in a historical building, while others prefer to live in a modern building, which one do you prefer and explain why.
Personally, I would say I'd like to live in a modern building. Even though, the historical buildings with different architectural styles are very appealing, I think it is pretty scary to live in there, it might be haunted. A modern building is more comfortable to live in, it has lots of modern facilities, like big glass windows, so it makes it easier for the sunlight to get in. If you happen to live in a tall modern building, you get a chance to appreciate the view of the whole city at night, that will be really awesome. Based on these reasons I find it more comfortable to live in a modern building.
10. While traveling, some people prefer to go to new places, others prefer to visit familiar places. Which do you think it better? Explain why.
Personally, I would to choose to travel to new places instead of familiar places. I am the kind of person who likes new and exciting things and exploration. Just visiting a familiar place is not fun, and actually it is pretty boring. On top of that, travelling around in different places makes me a well-rounded person. When travelling, I got a chance to talk to locals and get to know their culture, customs and way of living. By interacting with them I can broaden my horizon and have new perspective on things.
11. Describe an area in your city that you like the most. Explain why you like this area the most.
Since I am from a coastal city in China. I would say the area I like most about my city is the beach area. You can bath in the sun while appreciating the beautiful scenery alone the seashore, like the blossom and palm trees and stuff. One should definitely try out the sea food like salmon, tuna and even some lobsters. Apart from that, the last thing you should miss out when visiting this nice and beautiful part of the city is sea and water activities like snorkeling, wakeboarding and even jet skiing. You might get a little sun burnt but still worth it.
12. A friend of yours wants to make a big purchase but does not have enough money. What would you suggest your friend do to
Frankly, there are not lots of part jobs, from which you can make lots of money. However, I think to work in a restaurant part-time is a pretty decent choice. You can choose to be a delivery guy or even wait tables. By delivering food to customers, not only can you get lots of tips from generous customers, you can also get transportation fee paid from them. One can make easily make $ 150-200 a day. Also, you can build up a sense of responsibility from doing this job, on top of that, when the customers smile at you and appreciate your service, you can have a sense of achievement. To be able to make others happy is always a pleasant experience. Based on these reasons, I suggest my friend to work in a restaurant.
13. Some people prefer to have a very tight schedule, while others prefer to have more free time in their schedule. Which one do you prefer and why?
I would say I prefer a very tight schedule, I am the kind of person who are very motivated under lots of workload, and I am likely to goof off when there is not much to do. Having a tight schedule makes my day productive, like as a student, I enjoy finishing assignments, like problem sets, papers, and even doing group project with fellow classmates. I get a strong sense of achievement when I keep working nonstop. However, if I have lots of free time, I just stay in my apartment, and wasting my time, and that is certainly not the right thing to do.
14. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The success of a school largely depends on the resources it has such as textbooks and journals.
I don't agree that the success of a school largely depends on the resources it has such as textbooks and journals. I admit that they are contributing factors of a good school, but I think facilities and professors are big part of the success of a school. Firstly, science students depend on lab equipments and facilities to test theories in books, just learning theories without experiment in the lab is too boring and unproductive, so facilities, like research centers are very important. On top of that, professors are the key resource of a university, cuz they are the ones who can motivate the students and develop their skills and make them more creative, thus giving the students a better chance to be successful in the future.
15. One of your friends wants to drop out of college. Do you think it is a good idea or not? Why?
I disagree that my friend to drop out of college. Firstly, in china. one needs to work really hard to get in to college and you definitely need a college degree to get yourself a job. it's very hard, if not impossible, for a high school graduate to find a job. Secondly, the benefit of a college education goes beyond getting you a job. To be a well-rounded person with comprehensive knowledge in different fields. One needs to go to college. you study economics to better understand the economy. Psychology gives you knowledge about people's motives and desires. Based on these point I disagree that my friend should drop out of college.
16. Do you prefer to live in a residence where there are strict rules (such as rules against making loud noises at night), or do you prefer to live in a residence without strict rules.
Personally, I would like to choose a residence with strict rules. Our home is supposed to a place where we can relax and take a good a rest, thus get ready for the next day. As a student, I am occupied with lots of assignments, like papers, presentations, and even group project during the day. If I go back home at night and still don't have a chance to take a good rest, I will be really mad. To be able to live in a place with strict rules, we will not be distracted and disturbed by others, also, it restrains oneself from doing something disruptive to others, and I think it is mutually beneficial to one another.
17. When going on a vacation, some people prefer to stay in a hotel, while others prefer to camp outside in a tent. Which do you prefer?
Personally, I would choose to camp outside in
a tent. The only reason for me to go on a vacation is to get away
from the busy streets and concrete jungles, and get a chance to be
close to mother nature, by camping outside, I got a chance to
appreciate the beautiful starry sky at night, and enjoy the
tranquility, I don't have the chance to enjoy that moment when
living in the city. Also, camping outside makes it easier for you
to do some hiking, like walking on the trail, and do some fishing
and BBQ.
