History

The Hampshire Golf club is founded in 1993 and it is set in 240 acres of rolling Hampshire countryside in the famous Test Valley.

Proshop

Medium/Small size proshop and basic.

Club house

Club house looking nice from outside but the bar area is quite small. Their tee and coffee are from the vending machine. The general feeling is run down and basic.

Practice Area

The practice facilities include driving range, putting greens and short game practice area. and 9 hole academy course.

Tee Ground

There are 3 tee sets: White (6393 yards), Yellow (6145 yards) Red(5600 yards).

The tee ground is flat and looks not bad.

Fairway

The Fairway are very wide and there are not many trees. The second cut rough is very long. It will be difficult to find balls when hit it into the long stuff. But you will need a big slice or hook to get into. The Fairway is not flat but with barrows in one step size. It is annoying with push trolley. The trolley will constantly up and down.

Green

The green is large . There are various slopes on the green. The holes seems sit on crown, if passed hole, it will continue rolling to about 4-5 feet. The speed is medium

Course Design

The course is built around slowly undulated hills and quite open fairway. There are so much land that they can build another 9 holes. Not a good designed courser anyway.

PAR 3

4th is down hill, 170 yards. It is actually tee off from the top of hill. The green is at the bottom. There is about 30 meters drop. It is a interesting hole.

12th is  medium par 3, 148 yards. The green is raised but a straight forward hole.

14th is a medium par 3, 155 yards. Another straight forward Par 3.

16th is a medium par 3, 155 yards. Another straight forward Par 3.

Apart from the 4th hole, the other 3 holes have no features.

PAR 5

5th hole, 491 yards, is very simple hole. It can easily reached in 2 shots.

11th hole, 512 yards, is  dogleg right  and slightly up hill. There are bunkers at 245 and 200 yards to catch the off centre shot.

13th hole, 446 yards, is very steep uphill and need to take extra club when hitting into the green.

Bunker

The size and number of bunkers are medium. The sand quality is medium.

Signature hole:

The 4th par 3 is an interesting hole.

Par 5, 14th is another interesting shot par 5.

15th, 398 yards par 4, tee off from top of the hill.

Summary

The Hampshire golf course has the very wide fairway. In summary, the course design, condition and maintenance are very ordinary.
