Issues:

sane-finder-scanner can find the USB device, but the frontend applications failed to connect to the device. It is a driver issue.

Solution:

1. Find the artec ultima 2000 installation CD and find a file named *.usb

2. Copy this file into the directory /usr/share/same/gt68xx/, and name it as "ePlus2k.usb"

3. edit the /etc/sane.d/gt68xx.conf, find the artec ultima 2000 and remove # for "override ..." and " firmware ..."

4. run "scanimage -L", the scanner will appear
