猎人在教学中常会碰到一些成语、名言和警句。就随手翻译一下，帮助学生理解。

现在学期即将结束，把它们整理出来。（3）

81. If a man hasn’t discovered something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live.

   如果一个人没有发现他将为之献身的事业，它就不适合活着。（什么话？不知是那个“革命者”的“雷语”！就他们“伟大”，别人都该死！？）

82. Most people seek what they do not possess and are thus enslaved by the very things they want to acquire.

   大多数人寻求他们没有的东西，因此沦为它们的奴隶。（讲的是房奴？）

83. If a man takes no thought about what is distant, he will find sorrow near at hand.

   人无远虑，必有近忧。（英语会跟中文如此巧合？一定是从孔夫子的话翻译过去的！）

84. If we had no faults, we would not take so much pleasure in noting those of others.

   如果我们没有缺点，就不会以他人的缺点为乐。

85. Most people would succeed in small things if they were not troubled with great ambitions.

   对大多数人来说，如果没有宏图大志，只能小有成就。

（想当年魏征病逝家中。唐太宗亲临吊唁，痛哭失声，并说：“夫以铜为镜，可以正衣冠；以古为镜，可以知兴替；以人为镜，可以知得失。我常保此三镜，以防己过。今魏征殂逝，遂亡一镜矣。”

   一夜成名念年功。（此句英语与“台上一分钟，台下十年功”竟异曲同工）

   好名声胜过巨财富。

   己所不欲，勿施与人。（又是孔子《论语》里的！）

   成功之路上缀满诱人的憩息地。

   预见危险，避免一半。

（这句英语显然优于中译文，是因为life在英语中的双重意思）
