尊敬的中国记者朋友们：

在第14个中国记者节来临之际，我谨向全体中国记者送上最诚挚的祝福。记者是一个高尚的职业，其工作对于成百上千万人的日常生活及行为决策有着重要影响。记者需要勇气和职业操守，并做到全面平衡地报道以及公正透明。记者的使命就是寻求全部事实并将之公正地公诸于众。作为所谓的“新闻界”，媒体在代表公民社会权益方面发挥着极为重要作用，为最弱小和最贫穷的公民发声，确保政府不会伤害他们的权利。今天这个日子再次提醒了我们，你们作为新闻从业者对工作的热情以及为大众探求真相所肩负的责任。

Dear Journalists,

I would like to send my best wishes to all Chinese journalists on the 14th China Journalists day. Journalism is a noble profession. The important role of journalists, which influences the lives and decision-making of millions of people every day, requires balanced reporting, transparency and ethics.  Being a journalist is a mission of seeking the truth and delivering it to the world. As the so-called "fourth estate", the media plays a significant role representing the interests of civil society, giving a voice to the weakest and poorest citizens and ensuring that governments do not abuse their powers. I sincerely hope that this day will remind you of your passion for journalism and the great responsibility you have to the rest of us in the quest for truth.
