Before we read the article, we are going to learn the reading strategies: skimming and scanning. Skimming: to get a general idea of the article. Focus on the title, heading, captions, the first and last sentences of paragraphs, charts and pictures . Scanning: to locate specific information about an article. Look for key words and phrases, dates and words in bold, italics or capital letters… |
