开了一天半会，终于有空看几页最近最轰动的书
Thomas Piketty的Capital (in the
21st Century).
至少这几段话我很同意：希望那些还在迷恋数学化的非实证的所谓的“社会科学”（主要是经济学，加上一部分game
theory-political science）的同学赶紧醒悟。
“科学”是实证科学，数学不是严格意义上的科学，而是元科学（即，科学讨论的基础之一）。没有经过实证检验的模型就最多是一个看世界的方式或者玩具，甚至是个misinformation。

not find the work of US economists entirely
convincing. To be sure, they were all very intelligent,
and I still have many friends from that period of
my life. But something strange
happened: I
was only too aware of the fact that I knew nothing at all about

yet the profession continued to churn out purely
theoretical results without even knowing what facts needed to
be explained. And it expected me to do the
same.

bluntly, the discipline of economics has yet to get over its
childish passion for mathematics and for purely
theoretical and oft en highly
ideological speculation, at the expense of
historical research and collaboration with the
other social sciences. Economists are all too oft en preoccupied
with petty mathematical problems of interest only
to themselves. Th is obsession with mathematics is
an easy way of acquiring the appearance of
scientificity without having to answer the far
more complex questions posed by the world we live
in. There is one
great advantage to being an academic economist
in

modeling多的多。但是我坚持，模型必须有一定的系统证据支持，不能只是讲一两个故事扯扯淡。
