Discovering Ourselves

It might be safe to say that discovering ourselves is patently a life -long process, getting to know our physical, mental, and spiritual being. Here in unit 1 Book III of New Standard English, we come across the perpetual inspiring topic of finding out about ourselves, what we want to do, how we can become the person we desire to be, through the external passages of rites or teaching or through a sudden  realization of the calling of our heart.

Studying the articles and watching the video, I am compelled to look inside into my past. In my life I have experienced some transcendental moments, which can be both customary and personal. There have been so many unusual occasions that make who I am today and I am grateful to all the things helping to shape what could have never been the ME now.

Looking back, i find what has changed me most is…… (What will change me most is……)

All in all, humans are shaped both by the external forces of society and our internal understanding of and reaction to life.  Under the sway of convention, we can still have our free will to understand life and approach it innovatively to add our own understanding of the meaning of life, and evntually, make a difference.
