We are networked by information communication technology, a new era shaped by fantastic technoligical leap. QQ make possible various network with certain relashion or shared collective identity. I am member of several network groups  on QQ. In spite of that, I only network people with similarities in interest, value etc. Due to the massive social change going through in China, the way how you think and what you take priotity display a big difference. I would not call it diversity because diversity concerns with only difference regardless of time which contributes to fast the pace of changing. I think gap will be more accurate and appropriate. It seems that we are walking along the river of time. Those pinoeering the que bear a set of values, by contrast, those lagging at the end of the que hold a different set of values. Which set of values you carry rely on where you stand on the que. There is huge difference between various set of values, civilized or uncivilized, traditonal or modern. The structure of the que is vertical. This is not the case on diversity. Diversity is located with a horizontal structure. Embeded in it, you have options sets of values as well. But they are all produced in modern state, with characteristics of modern civilization.  In essence they are the same. You need no effort to reach it but only autonomy, sharply different to the gap which only can leap by enligtment or experiece.
