主持人：Alright, you say it's not a championship team, DA(Dave Aldridge), we will come right back to you with that, is this the team that can compete for a championship?

Dave Aldridge: well they can compete Mark, but they are not on the same line right now with Boston or Miami, or Chicago for that matter in my view, I think that there's a step behind right now, they are very talented, but they have slipped defensively in the last few month, and offensively a lot of people would expect that they would be very dynamic with Arenas, Jason Richardson and Hedo come along, but they really haven't been dynamic. Arenas is just big struggles mightily with the score, Richardson has been pretty good, but they haven't been the cohesive team that everybody thought they could be after all the deals. 

DA：他们倒是有的一拼，但是在我看来他们跟波士顿，迈阿密甚至芝加哥都不是一个档次了。我觉着魔术比他们都落后一步。他们有很多天分，但是他们近几个月的防守能力下滑，人们都觉着随着阿里纳斯，理查德森和希度得到来会让魔术的进攻会更有活力，但是实际却没有。阿里纳斯有严重的进球荒，理查德森表现还行，但是他们的配合一直没能打出球迷所期待的那样。

主持人：DA, I'm gonna come right back to you on this. How big of gamble was this for Otis Smith? Because if these pieces don't match, he could potential lose Dwight Howard.

DA:(laugh) You just answered your own question (both laugh). It is a franchise gamble. It's not just Otis Smith and his job, it's the Franchise. This is the team and a franchise that lost Shaquille O'Neil in 1996 to Los Angeles and got nothing. If they were to lose Dwight Howard, I know it's 2 years away, if they would lose Dwight Howard to free agency, and get next to nothing for him, I don't know how this franchise could recover. I think they still play obviously in Orlando, but it would be hard for Fans in Orlando to really give themselves to this franchise again. 

哈哈，你这不自问自答了么。这不仅仅是史密斯个人的赌博，或者丢不丢饭碗的问题，其实是整个球队的赌博。就是这只球队，这个俱乐部在1996年让奥尼尔白白流走湖人。虽然现在还有两年时间，但如果一旦他们让霍华德变成自由身，再次毫无回报的送走这个巨星，恐怕整个俱乐部都无法翻身了。虽然他们仍然会留在奥兰多，但是我觉着球迷不回在象以前一样支持他们了。

主持人：Alright, Tim I got ask you. You've been covering this area and this team for a long time, what is the reality there on that question: How long is it before Dwight Howard, or will Dwight Howard become the next LeBron James or the next Carmelo Anthony?  

蒂姆，你研究这支队很多年了，你觉着这个问题的的可能性有多大：还有多长时间，或者说会不会有一天霍华德就变成下一个詹姆斯或者安东尼？

Tim: I tell you what, he has everybody nervous is what he does, everybody is on edge, the organization, the fans, the media, that's all people want to know now. But fortunately I think this question is gonna go all the way through next season, if there is a next season, it's gonna go through next season. He's not gonna commit either way, he's not gonna sign any extension this summer, I know that. He's gonna take all next season to see what he's gonna do. The question is, when the lock-out is looming, how long will next season be? A lot of that may have to do with contracts, and it will all depend on who Orlando will line up to play alongside to him, because right now, they don't have that number 2 star, and that's what they lack.

主持人：Guys, that question has to be asked unfortunately. Let's move on to the bigger picture in the East. The Bulls on the rise, DA you were a little bit critical of the Celtics in this week's Morning Tip column, who is the best in the East, DA? 

让我们看看整个东部的形势吧。公牛奋起直追，DA你在这周NBA.com一个专栏上对凯尔特人对大有微词，那你觉着谁才是东部的老大呢？

DA: Well, I'd still say Boston but the margin of errors is a lot smaller now for the Celtics. If they have one significant front court injury, they are gonna be in a lot of trouble. This is it. They are gonna have to depends on Shaquille O'Neil and Jermaine O'Neil to stay healthy for the rest of the season and into the playoffs. If that happens I still think Boston is the best team, but they have a lot less room to work with than they did before the trade deadline. And that is not a criticism of Jeff Green. He's gonna help them an awful lot, and a lot of different ways, and give them a lot of versatility, but the reason the Celtics were, I think, better than anybody else in the East is because they have so much quality big－man－depth, and they give a lot of that depth away in the last couple of days with these trades. And now, if they do sign Troy Murphy, if they do sign another big, then they get some of it back. But I think they give out a proven depth, for a depth that they have work in now. That's gonna be difficult. 

我其实并没有说说凯尔特人不是东部老大，只不过（其他球队）留给他们犯错误的空间越来越小了。如果他们前场有一个严重伤病的话，那么他们的形势会非常危险。他们就不得不求神拜佛希望大鲨鱼和杰梅因奥尼尔常规赛结束前和季后赛一直保持健康。如果这种事情发生的话，我仍然觉着他们还能保持第一，但是空间跟转会期之前相比就变得很小了。当然这不是说格林靠不住，格林会利用自己的多样化给凯尔特人很多位置上带来很多帮助，但是之所以凯尔特人比其他的队强，最主要的原因我认为是他们“大个储备”的高质量。但是最近的交易把这些大个储备削弱了很多。如果说他们能签到墨菲的话，或者其他高水平大个，那么这个储备还能回来点。不过即使如此，用还需磨合的大个替换证实了好使的大个，还是有很大风险的。

主持人：DA, I'm gonna follow up with you on this real quick, because you did a great job in the Morning Tips, check it out at NBA.com if you haven't already. But, this move really surprises me as well because I think they were the prohibited favorite with Perkin's coming back, until let him go, when you get a championship dangling right there, in front of you. I mean I was really surprised with that move.

DA: I think a lot of people were, I think the prevailing attitude is not that Boston is wrong to trade Kendrick Perkins, as they thought they couldn't re-sign him, they really would have a hard time in doing it in another rules. But when you are trying to win a championship, and it's so hard to win a championship, Celtics obviously know that better than anybody, the way they lost game 7 last year. Take care of that stuff in the off season mark, I mean if you can't re-sign Kendrick Perkins, you can always trade him, you can always do a sign and trade, or at lease you should be able to with the rules. So do that later, win championship first, and everything else will take care of itself later. 

我觉着不止你，很多人都很惊讶。我觉着绝大部分人觉着波士顿不应该交易走帕金斯，波士顿确实很难重签帕金斯，但是你现在是想赢总冠军，凯尔特人比谁都清楚拿总冠军有多难，上个赛季刚刚经历了打足7场而丢掉总冠军的痛苦。这些事应该留在赛季后处理。如果你没办法续签帕金斯，你总能有各种办法交易走他。所以不要着急，先把总冠军拿到手，然后在考虑这些事情，很多时候拿了总冠军这些问题自己就解决了。

主持人：Ok Tim, you've already said you don't think Orlando is the team that's able to compete the championship, Boston still the favorite? Do you like the Heat to give them any of the challenge? 

好，Tim，你已经说过了你觉着奥兰多今年总冠军没戏了，波士顿热门？你觉着热火会不会给他们的夺冠之路创造不少麻烦呢？

Tim: I like the Heat now better than Boston, and I really didn't like the trade of Perkins. I thought the trade of Perkins is really really bad for them. If they have to face Orlando in the 2nd round, Perkins was the guy always handles Dwight Howard.  He made it easy for them to beat Orlando. Without Perkins it's not gonna happen. Having said that, the Heat is the team. I think the time of the season, the playoff starts, the regular season ends. I think LeBron, Wade, Bosh and so much was talked about early in the season, they had their ups and downs, I expect them to have ups and downs, but I think they are the team that's gonna be in the finals against Western Conference. 

比起波士顿我现在更喜欢热火队了，我真的很反对交易走帕金斯。这个交易对凯尔特人真的是负面影响很大。如果他们要在第二轮面对奥兰多，帕金斯是阻挡霍华德的关键。帕金斯让凯尔特人击败奥兰多变得容易了很多。没有帕金斯他们恐怕搞不定霍华德。这么说来，我觉着热才是最有冠军相的。尤其是赛季这个时候，常规赛快打完了，季后赛就要开始了，三巨头也逐渐履行赛季初加盟时的诺言了。他们确实有高潮，有低潮，我也预料到了会有这种变化，但是我觉着他们才是最后代表东部在总决赛面对西部的球队。
