新学期，新的HDR（Higher Degree Research）students就要加入，为鸟欢迎他们，faculty research office请大家集思广益为新人提出一些有趣兼有益的忠告，形式为Always， Sometimes， Never。

大家反应热烈，我尽量辨别字迹，特摘录如下，以资娱乐：
Always：
keep your mobile phone on SILENT when in the research center.
make sure there is paper for the printer in the research center.
start writing your thesis topic(?) now.
have faith in your academic capacity!!! （有人批注）---yes,yes,yes, be willing to change your mind but have courage in your ideas!
B+!
collect your printing--Don't waste paper.
visualise success then achieve it.
pay any attention to the bossy students in the research center (nut) (?)
read widely--don't feel pressured to be intellectually narrow.
always have a shower before you come to the research center.

Sometimes:
take a short break and have a distance from your thesis.
read things totally unrelated to your topics, you never know what gems you may find, chances are the scholar in your field may not yet have found them (无法辨认)
speak on your mobile phone in the printing/photocopy room. It is less annoying than talking in the carrel but more realistic for many people who are too far from the lounge to make it there before answering the phone.

Never:
speak on your mobile phone in the research center.- come out to the lounge area, and not in the printing/ photocopy room.
make your class copies on the printers in the research center (for your tutoring)--use your discipline's printers/copiers.
make comparison with others!
forget to back your documents/all files.
clip your toe nails in the research center.
suggest 'words of wisdom' to new students- you will be blamed for the consequences.
do more teaching than suits you. Thesis first, you only need to have tutorial/coordinated once each for the requisite experience.Publish article instead!
snore if you fall asleep at your desk.
