    菩提树不仅身世丰富，且实际用途十分广泛。它树干粗壮雄伟，树冠亭亭如盖，既可做行道树，又可供观赏；叶片心型，前端细长似尾，在植物学上被称作“滴水叶尖”，非常漂亮，如将其长期浸于寒泉，洗去叶肉，则可得到清晰透明、薄如轻纱的网状叶脉，名曰“菩提纱”，制成书签，可防虫蛀；枝杆富含白色乳汁，取出后可制硬性树胶；用树皮汁液漱口可治牙痛；花入药有发汗解热、镇痛之效；枝干上会长出气生根，形成“独树成林”景观。

    菩提树花,为椴树科植物南京椴的花序。分布山东、江苏、浙江、安徽、四川等地。中医认为,本品性味辛、甘、平,入肺经,有发汗解表之功,适用于外感风寒、暑湿症等。《药用植物学》言其发汗解表。
    菩提树皮,为椴树科植物南京椴的树皮及根皮。中医认为,本品性味微苦、凉,入肺经,有益肺止咳之功,适用于肺虚咳嗽,汗出异常等。《浙江天目山药植志》言其益肺止咳。现介绍几则治疗方,供选用。
      1.治暑湿症：菩提树花、香薷各适量,开水泡饮,或水煎服,每日1剂。
    2.治感冒：菩提树花、苍耳花各适量,开水泡饮,或水煎服,每日1剂。
    3.治肺虚咳嗽：菩提树皮、款冬花、紫苑各适量,开水泡饮,或水煎服,每日1剂。
    4.治中暑发热：菩提树花、金银花、夏枯草各适量,开水泡饮,或水煎服,每日1剂。
    5.治产后汗出异常：菩提树皮、人参花各适量,开水泡饮,或水煎服,每日1剂。

    重庆梁平菩提林文化促进会、重庆名格科技发展有限公司、重庆大学基因工程研究中心共同建成了世界首个菩提树基因库，收集了世界各地的菩提树品种，培植了许多新品种。重庆梁平菩提林文化促进会、重庆名格科技发展有限公司和重庆大学基因工程研究中心对菩提树资源开发与利用进行合作，就菩提树基因资源的保藏与评价(含菩提树基因库建设)、菩提树药用价值的研究与开发、菩提林海建设、菩提林文化的研究与开发等项目的合作。菩提树基因库坐落在重庆沙坪坝土湾羊角堡菩提林，目前繁育了10多万株菩提树。菩提树基因库希望得到大家支持，也希望得到更多人捐助菩提树种源。

     The tree of Linden doesn't only has profound history, but also has very broad actual usage.Its branch is sturdy and magnificent, and its tree crown stands so straight. It can be used as both the tree for performing Taoism and for watching.It has heart-shaped leaves, and the frontier of the leaves are slim, looking like tails.These features are called "sharp leaves with drips",and it is very beautiful. If it is immersed into cold spring and wash away mesophyll, we can get clear and transparent reticular veins which are as thin as veil, that is called "the veil of Linden". If it is made into book marks, it can be avoid of Insect borers. The branch of Linden contains affluent white milk, which can be made into tough rubber after taking out. The juice of tree bark can be used to cure toothache.The flower of Linden can be used as drug for sweating,body-cooling and pain-relieving. Many aerial roots grow on the branches of the tree, forming the scene of "a single tree makes a forest"

    The flower of Linten, is the  inflorescence of Nanjing linden among Tiliaceae plants. It is allocated in Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang,Anhui, Sichuan and so on. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this item is of spicy, sweet, neutral, and can help sweet, and stop coughing. It is beneficial to the symptons of coughing, Lung deficiency, abnormal sweet and so on.

 Now there are some  treatment prescription introduced here:
1. To cure "hot-wet" sympton: one dose for daily use, suitable amount of Linten flower, Elsholtzia, using spoiled water to soak, or frying the medicine with water.

2. to cure rheum: one dose for daily use, suitable amount of Linten flower, Xanthium flowers,using spoiled water to soak, or frying the medicine with water.

3. to cure cough and lung deficiency: one dose for daily use, suitable amount of tree bark of Linten, Aster, Coltsfoot ,using spoiled water to soak, or frying the medicine with water.

4. to cure heat stroke: one dose for daily use, suitable amount of Linten flower,Honeysuckle,Prunella, using spoiled water to soak, or frying the medicine with water.

5. to cure post partum abnormal sweet: one dose for daily use, suitable amount of tree bark of Linten,Ginseng Flower ,using spoiled water to soak, or frying the medicine with water.

    The Culture Promotion Committee of Linten of Chongqing Liangping, Chongqing Mingge technical development corporation ltd., The Research Center of Gene Project of Chongqing University, have built the world's first gene base for Linten with joint efforts, gathering species of Linten all over the world, and having cultivated may new species. The Culture Promotion Committee of Linten of Chongqing Liangping, Chongqing Mingge technical development corporation ltd., The Research Center of Gene Project of Chongqing University, have collaborated in exploring and making use of the resources of Linten, and have dedicated in the reservation and evaluation of Linten's gene resources,exploration and and research of Linten's drug value, building of "The Forest Sea of Linten", and the projects on the research and exploration of Lintern culture.The gene base of Linten is located in Linten forest of Tuwan Yangjiaobao, Shapingba district,Chongqing. Till now, there has been over 100,000 Linten trees cultivated in this forest. We hope Gene Base of Linten can be supported by everyone, and can also attain donation of the provenance of Linten.
