         Fear is a feeling that everyone has, and that’s a good thing, because fear is there to protect us. We’re born with a sense of fear so that we will keep away from danger.

         The best way to get over a fear is to get more information about it. As kids get older, they understand more and more, and start seeing the differences between real and unreal. So when a kid thinks he's seeing werewolves^1(狼人), he can tell himself, "Wait a minute. They’re not real. I don’t need to worry about them."

        The worst thing about feeling afraid is that you don’t know what to do. Here are the top three ways that can help you feel better:

        1. Do something, like playing outside, listening to music, or watching TV.

        2. Talk to a parent.

        3. Talk to a friend.

         If you get scared at night, Monique, 15, suggests listening to the radio. Then you will fall asleep.   And Naruto,14 , suggests writing down or drawing what you’re afraid of, and then cutting it into pieces. 

        Amanda, 15, thinks kids should talk with their parents or school teachers. "They will find  ways to help you get over it," she says.

        Bethany, 14, wants kids to stay brave." Try and try again, and never give up, "she says. "You’re not alone!"
