雅思写作,如何写出有效的段落

亲爱的烤鸭们,之前我们一起研究了雅思写作当中的遣词造句的问题,学习了如何写出“高逼格”的词汇和“不套路”的句子。今天,我们一起来从更宏观的角度研究一下雅思写作中,如何写出更为有效的段落。

 

我们先来说说什么叫“段落”。

 

段落,是文章中最基本的单位。内容上它具有一个相对完整的意思,在文章中用于体现作者的思路发展或全篇文章的层次。北京外国语大学2009年出版的《英语写作手册(英文版第三版)》中对于“段落”有着如下的阐述:“A paragraph is a unit of thought”,由此可见,一个有效“段落”的基本要求是一段思路发展的完整表达

 

那么,一个有效表意的段落的标准是什么呢?

 

A paragraph is like a mini-essay; it should be unified, coherent and well developed. A paragraph is unified when all the sentences in the paragraph are focused on one central thought or on a single topic; when the writer wishes to introduce a new thought or topic, he / she should begin a new paragraph. A paragraph is coherent when it develops naturally and smoothly, and one sentence leads logically to another.

 

1. Unity内容上的一致性:

 

Unity of a paragraph is concerned with its content.

 

一个有效的段落,首先要保证在内容上的一致性,分析论述同一个中心主题,围绕着同一个topic sentence展开。通常,topic sentence出现在段首,偶尔也会在段落中间或段末出现。

 

2. Coherence逻辑上的连贯性:

 

Coherence of a paragraph is concerned with its form, or its organization.

 

其次,一个有效的段落,要求在形式和组织上连贯通顺,句子组织清晰且富有逻辑,过渡自然流畅。

 

说到句子组织的连贯性,这里就不得不提到连接词的作用。在雅思写作中,我们通常会用到因果,转折,递进,让步,假设等一系列连接词,来使我们的语句组织更为通顺连贯,这里不一一列举了,在我们的雅思写作课堂上和今后的文章中,我们会专门谈到。

 

这里,我要提醒大家注意的是,逻辑连接,包括但不仅包括以上的逻辑连接词;很多时候,句型的变化,名词或者代词的必要重复等形式,同样可以巧妙地起到句子连接的作用。

 

最后,我们来通过一个段落练习,结束今天的讲解吧!

 

题目:选择合适的连接词完成段落。

 

连接词:in addition, for example, in fact, also, furthermore

 

Teachers of foreign languages should be extremely well-qualified in order to carry out their duties properly. (  E  ), the teacher must be familiar with audio-lingual techniques Knowing all this will help the students to learn correctly and quickly.
