在这五个月里，我走了许多地方，接触到许多人。令我吃惊的是，许多加拿大人，年龄比你们打得多，都喜欢用汉语同我交流，这让我又兴奋，又失落。

——走了许多地方动词我用的是visit,译文travel;

——visit: to go and spend time in a place or with someone, especially for pleasure or interest eg. Eg. Which cities did you visit in Spain?;

——travel: to go from one place to another, or to several places, especially ones that are far away eg. Someday I'd like to travel abroad ;

——交流动词我用的是communicate,译文talk;

——communicate: to exchange information or conversation with other people, using words, signs, writing etc;

——talk: to converse by means of spoken language:

Why do you feel excited and lost at the same time?

兴奋的是有越来越多的加拿大人了解中国或正在了解中国。失落的是今后我在这里用英语的场合就比较少了，这对提高我的英语水平可不是个好消息。

Well, you know, an increasing number of Canadian young men and women show keen interest in Chinese and the Chinese culture, and many of them are the “old China hands.”

——keen: someone who is keen on something is very interested in it or enjoys doing it very much,eg.  Daniel's very keen on tennis.

Some Canadians find it very easy to learn Chinese, while others do not thinks so at all. What suggestions would you like to give them?

对那些学习汉语轻而易举的人，我想借现在中国年轻人中很流行的形容词夸一句；你们真给力。对那些为学汉语伤脑筋的人，我想说：别担心。我当年学外语也是这样过来的。
