现在分词做定语

注意二方面：

一.位置

单个的过去分词做定语放在所修饰的名词和代词之前。

如果是分词短语做定语则放在所修饰词之后。

如：These dancing girls are all my classmates

Everyone should show his respect to the working people .

The girl looking at the picture comes from a badly-off family.

We are fond of the actress playing a leading role in the film.

二.转化和作用

注意分词做定语和定语从句之间的转化.一般地说来,包含三种.

1.表现在或当时的状态,变成定语从句常用一般现在时.

Eg. The house standing on the top of the hill dates back to 100 years ago.

=The house which stands on the top of the hill dates back to 100 years ago.

Eg. The newly-published novel talking about the life of modern young people becomes a best-seller this year.

=The newly-published novel which talks about the life of modern young people becomes a best-seller this year.

Eg. The vila belonging to the Greens is worth visiting.

=The vila which belongs to the Greens is worth visiting.

2.表示正在进行的动作，变成定语从句时要用进行时态。

Eg. I’m familiar with the girl wearing a red coat .

= I’m familiar with the girl who is wearing a red coat.

Eg. The Greens walking around the street intend to buy a new flat near the subway.

=The Greens who are walking around the street intend to buy a new flat near the subway.

3.一般不用动名词的完成时态做定语,这时,应该用定语从句.

Eg. Those who have finished their work can go home now.

这种情况一般不写成having finished .

4.当动名词不表示所修饰词的状态和正在进行的动作时，也没用逻辑上的主谓关系，而表示所修饰词的某种作用和性质，作“供，作…用.” .

Eg. This can be used as a working stick=a stick for walk.
