1. come 和 go 是一对反义词，come(来) 所表示的方向是朝向说话者的位置，而go(去)所表示的方向是离开说话者的位置。如：

come here(来这儿)，come to school(来上学)，go there(去那儿)，

go to school(去上学)。

2. 两者之后均可用 and 来代替一个表目的的不定式。如：

Come and have a drink. 来喝一杯。

He went and bought some envelopes. 他去买了些信封。

3. come 之后可接不定式，表示经过某一过程而发生某一情况，常译为“开始”、“渐渐地”、“终于”，但 go 不能这样用。如：

How did you come to know it? 你怎么知道这事的?

Thus I came to like her. 就这样我就慢慢喜欢她起来了。

4. come 和 go 之后均可接现在分词，但有区别：

(1) come＋现在分词，主要用来说明“来”的方式。如：

He came running to welcome us. 他跑过来欢迎我们。

She came crying to her mother. 她哭着向她妈妈走来

It was already twelve when he came hurrying in. 他匆匆赶回来时已是12点了。

类例：come blowing (吹来)，come rushing (冲来) 等

(2) go＋现在分词，表示“去做……”，这类词组大多与体育或娱乐有关。如：

We often go swimming together. 我们常一道去游泳。

Let’s go boating this afternoon. 今天下午我们去划船吧。

类例：go skating(去滑冰)，

go skiing(去滑雪)，

go dancing(去跳舞)，

go climbing(去爬山)，

go fishing(去钓鱼)，

go hunting(去打猎)，

go shopping(去买东西)，

go sight-seeing(去游览)等。

【注】有时 come 也可以用于以上场合，但它与 go 表示的方向不同。如：

Come swimming with us tomorrow. 明天同我们一道去游泳吧。

5. come 和 go 都可用作连系动词，表示事物状态的变化。

The handle has come loose. 这个把柄松了。

This envelope has come unstuck. 这封信开了。

The children went wild with excitement. 孩子们欣喜若狂

两者之后所接形容词通常各有其特点，有时还可从好坏方面去区别：

即 come 用于“好”的变化，go 用于“坏”的变化。如：

The meat has gone bad. 这肉变味了。

Something has gone wrong with the radio. 这收音机什么地方出了毛病。

Things will come right. 一切会顺利地进行。

Her dream has come true. 她的梦想实现了。

【注】表示人的生理变化通常用 go。如：

go blind 变瞎 go deaf 变聋　　go grey 两鬓渐白

但是 go 通常不与 old, ill, tired 等连用

也许是受Hollywood电影热潮的影响,最近特别想看电影,although I'm not moviegoer(常看电影的人).但是常常在逛Blockbuster或者Hollywood Videos(美国两大电影DVD租赁连锁店)的时候,看到架子上各种各样的电影,总有把它们全看个遍的冲动.But usually, I would go for the latest ones.

上面提到的go,在口语里面经常会用到."选择做某件事",咱们不用 choose,直接go for就可以了.Just like me talking about the magic words in spoken English, I always go for small words instead of big ones.另外,表示一个人向某方面转变也可以用go,比如我的好朋友Plum最近为了减肥,决定吃素,做一个vegetarian(素食主义者).前几天他给我打电话,很兴奋得跟我说"Kaitlin, I've decided to go vegeterian." 我很支持地说"Great!
