①不可数 目前，当前

The manager didn’t perceive the new secretary’s potential at present，therefore he was not sure whether she was competent to this position.

②可数 礼物

I’m buying it for a present, so please wrap it up nicely.

2.     形容词

①出席的，在场的

Present at the conference are our principal, professors and some masters.

②现在的，现存的

Barack Obama is the present president of the United States.

③存在的，含有的

Analysis showed that water was present in the mixture.

④正在处理或讨论中的

3.     及物动词 vt
