永泰城，位于甘肃省景泰县西南27公里处，因其城堡似金龟，故名永泰龟城。1993年经甘肃省人民政府批准列为省级文物保护单位，是景泰县境内唯一一座保存比较完整的明代古城。古城建于明万历三十六年（公元1603年），城周1700多米，墙高12米，夯层厚12至18厘米，城基厚5米。城平面呈椭圆形，四面筑有半月形城，城门向南开，外筑甬门，门稍偏西，形似龟头。城周有护城河，宽约6米，深约1至2.5米，是一道完备的军事屏障和防御工事，在明清两代具有重要的战略地位。曾在城中设把总等职驻兵把守，清代名将岳仲琪祖府地也在其中。城内现存“永泰小学”建于民国3年（1913年），系中西式结合的哥特式建筑，也属县级文物保护单位。据《永泰城记》载，清雍正皇帝二年，忠信公岳钟琪回乡祀祖，见龟城之形建议说，永泰城虽建造似龟形，但未有五脏，宜补之，遂在城内为凿五眼井，以补龟城之五脏，并在北城角设一大池，叫“甘露池”，合诸井并各为二腑，以补龟城地脉，增添龟城之灵气。古城内原有大佛寺、诸神阁、玉皇殿和数道牌楼等古建筑群。从建成至今经历了400多年的沧桑，岳镇邦、岳升龙、岳钟琪祖孙三代对龟城的影响，使永泰城声名远播。我们一行去参观时，正赶上湖南电影制片厂不远万里来此拍摄《决战刹马镇》，电影《最后一个冬日》、《美丽的大脚》、《汗血宝马》等影片也在此拍摄外景，这些足以说明永泰龟城作为重要的历史遗迹，在加强保护的同时，可以向影视城方向发展。
