丁香园战友lightningwing的感悟---年终的时候收到在米国的BWH医院院长的年终邮件，和国内不同，这边院长基本上是每周（最多2周）给所有医院的人员公开信的，基本上就是分享喜悦，收获，医院进展之类的正能量。当然新年也有新年的。随意扫了过去 但是其中的几行字打动了我。虽然动态版的诸位都是翻译的大牛，但是还是觉得把这个翻译出来，希望能让更多的战友看到。Not long ago, a grateful patient’s family emailed me about their experience at BWH. The family felt their father’s illness and passing was handled with grace and dignity, and that they were in the right place during such a difficult time.They wrote:“The staff and the surgeons really made us feel like family...They were so sympathetic, answered all our questions and we felt that if we had needed to talk with them for three hours, they would stay. Many members of our extended family came in to support us, and the staff set us up in a large conference room and arranged for a buffet of sandwiches, drinks, and snacks to be laid out for us. Talk about being made to feel special... Later, the surgeon confirmed there was no hope, and that it would be best to follow through with Dad’s wishes. I think the whole case really had an effect on him because I saw something that I had never seen before. The surgeon went over, bent down and gave my Mom a big long hug. The other doctor, along with the nurses, was crying. It was like we had new family members.”不久前，有一位友善的患者家属给我发邮件，分享其在BWH（哈佛 布瑞跟妇女医院）的经历。这个家庭觉得他们的父亲，从患病到离世，都那么安详，有尊严，他们觉得，在那个艰难的时刻，他们来对了地方。“这里的员工和外科医生让我们真正感觉像家一样...他们是如此的善解人意，回答了我们所有的问题并且让我们感到，哪怕我们还需要和他再谈上三个小时，他们也会驻足。很多周围的人也在支持者我们，医院的员工给我们安排了个大会议室，里面布置了各种三明治，饮料，小吃的自助，让我们放松，和我们交流，让我们受宠若惊...后来，外科医生确定已经没有手术机会了，现在最好的选择就是遵从父亲的意愿（想做什么就做什么）。我想入院的整个经历对他是有好处的，因为我看到了之前从未看到的事情。医生走过来，俯下身子，给了我母亲一个长时间的拥抱。其他的医生，包括护士，都哭了，这时，我感觉我们是一家人一样。”
