         据调查，每年有85%的教授的科研成果科研成果被应用到实际生产中，转化为

         Productivity，促进生产效率，给社会发展带来贡献。

Psychological –形成社会的创新的意识，有利于推动整个社会的创新发展。

3.但更应该spend time doing research。 - 有利于学校和学生

Physical – 钱 – 学校收到grant和funding继续futhur research/ 提高research facilities

Reputation – 提高学校的reputation和standing/ 也有利于学生Network，认识教授社交圈得朋友和同事，有助于职业发展

经验和time，学生得到老师的经验和skill –>学到最先进的知识，避免浪费时间找方法

Psyological –老师因为这种成就，对工作更有热情

           愿意和他所教的学生分享他的热情，反过来会促进教学。学生对这个感兴趣，

           从此爱上了学术。

It is widely known that the professor plays an pivotal role in the education in  the university. However, nowadays it takes more and more time for professors to do research. Thus, it becomes a heated debate on which aspect the professor should spend more time, doing research or educating students? In my opinion, I think university professor should spend more time doing research.

Admittedly, educating students is one part of university professors's work and needs professors to devote time to. University is the place where students learn knowledge and skills and studying in the university is the major way to accept the education. Therefore, professors must pay more attention to their teaching quality and skill in order to help students learn more knowledge. Professor impart the knowledge to students, help them to form the firm fundamental and find their interesting direction, to which they would like to commit themselves in the future professional development. In addition, skills that students learn  from teachers is even more important as competent will benefit them all the life. So It is undoubtedly that professors are crucial to students' education and should attach important to educating .

However, university professor should spend more time doing research, as these researches could be applied to the real world and benefit the society. These researches might be the breakthrough in science and technology, could solve the practical problems and bring the changes to our life. For example, a professor in department of Environment Scientist has made headway in renewable green energy, such as solar energy. When this research is utilized in the real world, the pollution will be reduced, our global environment will be enhanced and our life quality will be improved. According to the survey in Peking University, annually about eighty-five percent of professor's results of scientific researches are applied to real production and transformed to productivity. This kind of transformation enhances the production efficiency and contributes to the society.

Moreover, professors' successful research will benefit the university and students. The university will receive the grant and funding to continue further research. The money will also help the university to improve their research facility and offer scholarship to students. The research will bring reputation and standing to the university, which could help students gain high recognition when they find jobs. As professors who do the research keep track of the up-to-date knowledge, so students could gain access to the most advanced knowledge and obtain a much wider perspective in this researched subject.

In a word, as what we discussed above, it is undoubted to conclude that university professor should spend more time doing research. Although educating students is one part of university professors's work, doing research gives more important contributions, as these researches could be applied to the real world and benefit the society. Moreover, successful research will also benefit the university and students. Successful researches could change our life and the world, so the importance of research cannot be emphasized too much.
