剧情介绍：
1931年，银行家雨果•吉勒和妻子阿纳伊丝•尼恩到巴黎消夏。在公寓里发现了一些秘藏的色情照片后，潜伏在阿纳伊丝内心的情欲被唤醒了。热情奔放的作家亨利•米勒到吉勒家吃午饭时引起了阿纳伊丝的兴趣，亨利将圈子里的文艺界人士介绍给她认识。在成为亨利的情人后，阿纳伊丝资助亨利在巴黎的花费开销。不久，亨利的妻子琼来到巴黎。这个难以捉摸而富于魅力的女人在将亨利控制在由自己编织的情欲的网中的同时，还捕获了阿纳伊丝。阿纳伊丝成了琼的门徒，从琼那里学到了不少色情经验。都爱上了琼的亨利和阿纳伊丝决定各写一本以琼为主人公的书。随后，亨利完成了《北回归线》，但当他正为这本书的出版在和出版商洽谈时，琼回来了。愤怒的琼谴责他以其为题材的卑劣目的。琼和阿纳伊丝上了床，但当她得知阿纳伊丝和亨利的情人关系后又大为光火，在将他们的手稿扔得到处都是后离去。整理好手稿的阿纳伊丝宣称她在文学上拥有自主权，遂和丈夫离开了巴黎。
