王雪涛（1903-1982），河北成安人，原名庭钧，字晓封，号迟园。自幼喜绘画。1922年考入北平艺术专科

学校西画系，后转读国画系，受教于陈师曾、萧谦中、汤定之、王梦白等前辈，尤其受王梦白影响最大。1924年

拜齐白石为师，奉师命改名雪涛。1926年毕业留校任教。抗日战争期间，辞去教职，专事绘画创作，卖画为生。

1954年任中国画研究会常务理事，被聘为中央美术学院民族美术研究所副研究员。1955年参加筹备北京中国画院

工作，1957年任该院画师，院务委员会委员，1978年任北京画院院长。中国美术家协会理事。

     王雪涛是现代中国卓有成就的花鸟画大家，对我国小写意花鸟画作出了突出贡献。他的作品题材广泛，构

思精巧，形似神俏，清新秀丽，富有笔墨情趣，创作上主张“师法造化而抒己之情，物我一体，学先人为我所

用，不断创新”。画法上工写结合，虚实结合。他善于描绘花鸟世界的丰富多彩和活泼生气，又精于表现画家的

心灵感受和动人想像。他还善灵巧多变的笔墨，色墨结合，以色助墨，以墨显色，在传统固有色中融入西洋画法

讲究的色彩规律，以求整体色彩对比协调，为画面增添韵律。他的画摆脱了明清花鸟画的僵化程式，创造了清新

灵妙，雅俗共赏的鲜明风格。
