任伯年（1840-1896），名颐，初名润，字小楼，后改伯年，浙江山阴人，初随父学画，后又受其族叔任熊

影响。1865年正式随其族叔任熏习画，并开始以卖画为生，1868年随任熊去苏州，接触大量古今名画，后居沪

上，再未离开上海，以卖画为生。是清末海上杰出的画家之一，是海派的集大成者，与任熊、任熏、任预为海上

“四任”。其肖像、人物、花鸟、山水无所不能，工笔设色、水墨、写意无所不精。犹以人物、花鸟方面成就最

为杰出。

    任伯年善于学习前人的艺术精华，能做到“施其意而不失其迹”，他不仅更重视写生，而且在他的许多作品

中吸收了一些水彩画的技巧，从而又发展了传统的没骨画法，影响所及，促使我国近代写意花鸟画获得了新的发展。

    任伯年的作品是我国古代绘画和现代中国画之间的一座桥梁。徐悲鸿在《任伯年评传》中，称其“乃三百年

来第一人”。其作品对今天中国画的创作，无疑有一定的借鉴作用。
