回来的那天路上很堵。看到的大都是名贵车。老公一直想买法拉利，问题是我们门口没有车位，不然要去买个车位。我觉得一点都不合算，也没有必要开法拉利。换做是我，都不想学开车，坐地铁很方便。所以到现在我都懒得去学开车。能推就推。不过，在美国，不开车真的就相当于没腿。所以还是得学会。去哪里都方便。
   把在长岛拍的几张照片发给朋友，并没有告诉我们去了长岛度假，也没说在长岛拍的。可是一位眼尖的朋友却看出来了。原来他也刚刚去长岛探亲。他父母住在长岛。他自己是住在加州，斯坦福大学医院做脑外科医生。他问我是不是去了长岛，我说是的，顺便告诉他我们在 Wainscott 的地方。他回了信,LI指的是长岛：

   Hi Summer,  Wainscott is a very beautiful and expensive (!!) part of LI.  My parents live on what is called the North Fork of Long Island (Wainscott is on the South Fork), about one hour by car and ferry from where you were visiting.  The North Fork is also nice....and as far as I am concerned the people are much nicer .  When I was a boy I loved the Hamptons because in large part they have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  However, over the years the entire Hamptons/South Fork of LI have been transformed into little more than a jet-set luxury-obsessed very expensive summer town.  Once upon a time the place was much more rural, simple and from my perspective, charming.  Personally I like the old Hamptons so much that I almost want to cry when I visit the place these days.  Sadly many of the same things are now happening to the North Fork.  Nevertheless, how are you?
