This
Monday, I took my British couple to Suzhou by train. After we
arrived , we saw a long queue for taxi in the sun. We did not want
to waste precious time or to be burned, so we decided to take a
private car which has no business license. That means illegal, but
we still like to risk. After negotiated with the driver, he agreed.
On the way to the destination, the driver changed the course and
circle around. I asked: you are not taking the correct way, are not
you? why? he said: there is a police car behind
us chasing us, please don't tell them that I charge you. I said ok.
he drove very fast and I could see the police car from the mirror.
Just in a minute, the police from behind shouted and they stopped
in front of us. The driver muttered while tried to make a phone:
please tell them it's free drive. I could see his hands were
shivering and voice was weak. But we could not get out, he locked
us inside. The police waved at me, and tried to show me how to open
the door. But I was so afraid, and could not succeed. My British
couple opened the door, they walked out but I was still inside.
Finally the police opened the door for me from behind. Then the
police told us he would drive us to the destination. We went on in
his car, and he asked me some questions and stopped on the way to
pick up a guy who recorded my words. The police was very friendly,
and apologized to waste our time. I wonder what if my tourist were
not foreigners, what kind of treat would they received?
This episode was a little frightening but also exciting which had
never happened to me. All what I could say to my customers: because
you are noble guests, so the government sent a police car for you
to welcome your visit.
