Dong Wei, was born in Beijing. In 2002, shegraduated from school of mechanical engineering of Tianjin University ofScience and Technology . Now she works in Tinanjin Customs. She said"reading has been the most important part of my life, which includes theutilitarian books and non-utilitarian ones. I remember one of my universityteacher ever said the people who are good at thinking can find out the contentto guide their own lives from the seemingly unrelated knowledge. This sentencehas inspired me to keep an open -mind attitude when I am reading.

“白骨青灰长艾萧，桃花扇底送南朝；不因重做兴亡梦，儿女浓情何处消”。南京，人称其有“六朝金粉繁华气”，多少北方跨江而来的铁骑踩上这片土地，再抬起脚来就变成了柔软的绣花鞋。永远地作为故都，决定了南京厚重的感伤。所以，她怀旧，一遍又一遍地寻找留在记忆里的故事，仿佛已毁灭的才是真实。

Nanjin is highly praised by people with thatit is a city possessing of the prosperity and luxury of the six dynasties--thethree kindoms of Wu, Dongjin, Song, Qi, Liang, Chen. There were so manycavalries crossed the river from the north to the south,Nanjin. Once they hadentered into this area, it's no need a long time for them to become an army indisarray which is like the embroidered shoes easy to control. The unchangeabletruth that Nanjin is an ancient capital determines that this city is full ofthe strong sentimental feelings. Whether the people who are lived or travellingin this city are nostalgic, they dated back to the stories in their memory overand over again. For them, it seems that the destroyed things are the real. 
扬州，香软肥俗之江南的代言人，就连月色也无端分去了二分，又通过隋炀帝的大运河和盐商经营，夺得了“富甲天下”的名声，勾引多少人“腰缠十万贯，骑鹤下扬州”，争先恐后地去一掷千金，仿佛那月色也与歌妓并无二致。而历史回报给扬州的，也是近乎洒脱的无情。“二十四桥仍在，波心荡、冷月无声”。旧客走了新客来，人们都做着十年一觉扬州梦。喧嚣过后，勾栏酒肆已不在，王孙公子已不在，空空如也的扬州城，上空留下的只有清冷的风声。风中还夹杂着隐隐琵琶曲，仿佛亡魂在诉说繁华。
The south cities in China are famous fortheir abundant resources and numberous beauties, while it is Yangzhou that canbe the representative one for them and with no reason ,the Yangzhou' moon is alittle more beautiful than other places'. Thanks to the Grand Canal establishedin the Sui dynasty of the Emperor Yang and business operated by Salt Merchant,Yangzhou won the reputation--the richest in the world. Tremendous people wereattracted to go there with their numerous money and spend billions on thebeauty of the moon and the changci of singing-girls. However, this kind of prosprpusscene has passef away. What the history leaves to Yangzhou also is the easy andcareless oblivion."Twenty-four brige is still located there,
                 and the water waves bit bybit;
                 But the night with moon iscold and slient."
The familiar guests went,then, came theunacquainted ones. All of them made a dream that indulging themself in gay lifeand debauchery. However, after the jollification, Yangzhou became an emptycity,above which only the sound of the cold wind can be heared. The theater andthe wine shop are not existed any more. The sons of the rich or powerful willnot come back any more. The sound of the wind mixed with the faint music ofPipa as if the deadmen are talking about the city's past prosperity.
 
《桃花扇》就是一部以明末动荡的江南为背景，借儿女之情，写兴亡之感的传奇作品。在第十八期“大家讲坛”中，我愿意与大家一起，从《桃花扇》的写作背景，故事情节，文学描写等方面，在那样一个朝代更迭的大背景下，发掘历史的壮美和人性的真实。
Peach Blossom Fan is a legend which takesthe regions south of the Yangtze River in the late Ming dynasty when thecountry is shaky and unstable as the background. It seems to be a love story,whilethe goal of the author is expressing his feeling for the risr and fall of thedynasty. In the eighteenth term of Rostrum for everyone, from the aspects suchas the writting background ,plot, literary description and so on, I will be togetherwith you to find out the history's magnificent beauty and the real human natureunder such a big background--the change of dynasty.
