Walking on Broad Street, you will not miss some of the landmarks of Oxford: the Sheldonian Theatre, the Bodleian Library,Cadcliffe Camera, the University Church of St.Mary and the Bridge of Sighs. The first landmark that came into my sight was the Sheldonian Theatre, which has been described as sticking out into Broad Streeet like the stern of a ship.

Behind the Theatre walking through an arched gate, we came to the Bodleian Library,which is one of the oldest libraries in Europe, and second in size to the British Library in Britain.

Nearby, the most famous building named "Radcliffe Camera" was in sight. The Radcliffe Camera, a large circular building with a lofty dome, was built by James Gibbs between 1737 and 1749 with money bequeathed by John Radcliffe (1650-1714), the famous physician, and was designed to house a library endowed by Radcliffe. The building was constructed with stone, and the dome and cupola  are covered with lead.

Just on the opposite side of the Radcliffe Square stands another famous landmark of Oxford, the University Church of St. Mary the Virgin, which is the largest of Oxford's parish churches and the centre from which the University of Oxford grew, and is surrounded by university and college buildings. In the later 15th and early 16th century the main body of the church was substantially rebuilt in the Perpendicular style, but the oldest part of the present church is the tower, which dates from around 1270.

There is another landmark which can't be neglected.  This is Herford Bridge, which, popularly known as the Bridge of Sighs, is a skyway over New College Lane in Oxford. The bridge is often referred to as the Bridge of Sighs because of its supposed similarity to the famous Bridge of Sighs in Venice. The bridge links together the Old and New Quadrangles of Hertford College, and much of its current architecture was designed by Sir Thomas Jackson. It was completed in 1914, despite its construction being opposed by New College.
