笑话的大意是这样的：

上个月联合国在全世界范围内做了个电话调查， 只问了一个问题：

关于世界其他国家地区改善食品短缺的解决方案，请你提供你的诚实的意见。

这次调查以完全失败而告终，原因是：

1． 在东欧，人们不知道什么是诚实

2． 在西欧，人们不知道什么是短缺

3． 在非洲，人们不知道什么是食品

4． 在中国，人们不知道什么是意见

5． 在中东，人们不知道什么是问题的解决方案

6． 在南美，人们不知道什么是“请”

7． 在美国，人们不懂什么是地球上的其他国家

8． 在澳洲，人们一听到印度口音，马上挂断电话 

(备驻:在澳洲印度人抢当地人饭碗,很多公司将电话服务放到印度做,而印度人口音很重,及不知所云)

Last month the UN conducted a world-wide survey by phone. 
The only question asked was:-

"Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions
to the food shortage in the rest of the world?"

The survey was a huge failure because of the  following:

1.      In  Eastern Europe  they didn't  know what "honest" meant. 

2.      In  Western Europe  they didn't know what "shortage" meant. 

3.      In  Africa  they didn't know what "food" meant.  

4.      In  China  they didn't know what "opinion" meant.. 

5.      In the  Middle East  they didn't know what "solution" meant. 

6.      In  South America  they didn't know what "please" meant.. 

7.      In the  USA  they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.

8.      In  Australia  they hung up as soon as they heard the Indian accent.
