无锡阳山景色秀丽，有狮子山、长腰山、大阳山、小阳山4座山丘，因周朝封姬安阳侯于此而统称安阳山。这拔地而起的小丘，犹如镶嵌在水网湖域的绿色明珠，水山相映，风光旖旎。安阳山为华东地区唯一的火岩层山。大阳山山峰突兀，断岩峭壁，曾被明太祖赞为"八面威风"，山间有朝阳洞、清水洞、文笔峰等一批洞天福地，山顶有古火山喷发口，尤以公元1246年东渡扶桑创建日本建长寺的一代宗师大觉禅师之碑而闻名于海内外宗教界。

修复的朝阳寺，愈加异彩夺目，光照千秋。小阳山底矮小巧，窈窕俊秀；长腰山形如卧牛而得名；狮子山林茂花繁，妩媚动人，山脚下坐落着始建于光绪年间著名的“安阳书院”。阳春三月，万亩桃花漫山遍野，竞相怒放，争奇斗艳，绚丽多姿，把古老的阳山点缀成一个真正的"桃花源"。五月下旬，早桃上市，直到9月中旬收市。桃熟时节，硕果累累，乍点红唇，色丽香溢，人称"江南一绝"。凭着得天独厚的自然条件和丰富的桃文化、佛文化、石文化，2007年3月阳山镇被批准建立省级火山地质公园。地处太湖之滨的江苏省无锡市阳山镇，有着700多年的水蜜桃种植历史，境内的桃林面积达到3万多亩，被称作中国水蜜桃之乡。每逢阳春3月，这里万亩桃花漫山遍野，竞相怒放，争奇斗艳，绚丽多姿，恍如一片“花海”；而待到桃熟时节，则硕果累累，色丽香溢，人称“江南一绝”。
