二、英语日期表示法规律

英语日期的读法、写法和汉语不同，要注意区别。英语中年、月、日的表达方法是“月份+序数词，年”。    2001年4月2日应该写成：April 2nd, 2001，或者Apr. 2nd, 2001 读成：April the second, two thousand and on e。一般情况下，序数词是在基数词后加-th，但有几种特殊情况，可按下面规律来记：1、2、3单独记（即first, second, third），8后少t，9少e（即：eighth, ninth），5、12变ve为fth（即fifth, twelfth），整十位数变y为ie再  加th（如twentieth），二位以上只将个数变序数词（如thirty-second）。

例如： October 31（October 31st）读作October（the）thirty-first

August 26（August 26th）读作August（the）twenty-sixth

另外：

一月January,缩写Jan. 二月February,缩写Feb. 三月March, 缩写Mar.

四月April, 缩写Apr. 五月May, 缩写May 六月June, 缩写Jun.

三、规律

“.”表示缩写，这个点在英语中叫period,它是一种标点符号的使用方法，就如名中用逗号，句末用句号，并列分句用分号一样，约定俗成。

在日期方面，美英英语的表达方式是有差别的。以日为先，月份为后，此为英国式；美国式则与此相反，以月为先，日期则在后。如一九九六年三月二日的写法：

1st Mar, 2008（英）

Mar 1st, 2008（美）

记得要在日子的后面加上后缀，1st 2nd 3rd ，这三个特殊，其他的数字都加th,如4th , 7th 。

A. 用基数词 + o'clock来表示整点，注意o'clock须用单数，可以省略。如：

eight o'clock 八点钟，ten (o'clock) 十点钟

B. 用基数词按钟点 + 分钟的顺序直接写出时间。如：

eleven-o-five 十一点过五分， six forty六点四十

2. 间接表达法

A. 如果分钟数少于30分钟，可用分钟 + past + 钟点表示，其中past是介词，意思是“过”。如：

twenty past four 四点二十 eight past one 一点八分

B. 如果分钟数多于30分钟，可用（60分钟-原分钟数）+ to +（原钟点数+ 1）表示，其中to是介词，意思是“差”。如：

8:35 可表示为twenty-five to nine 差二十五分钟九点，即八点三十五（其中的分钟数twenty-five 是由60分钟减去35分钟得 到的；钟点数nine是由8加上1得到的）。

注：A. 当分钟数是15分钟时，可用名词quarter （一刻钟）表示。如：

7:15可表示为 a quarter past seven， 12:15可表示为 a quarter past twelve

B. 当分钟数是30分钟时，可用名词half （一半）表示。如：

9:30 可表示为 half past nine，3:30可表示为 half past three。

C. 若想表明是上午，可在时间后加上am或a.m.。如：thirteen past six a.m. （上午六点十三分）等。若想表明是下午，可在时间后加上pm或p.m.。如：four o'clock p.m. （下午四点）等。

D. 若表示的时间不够准确，可在时间前加上介词about。如：about eight （大约八点）等。

E. 在时间前面应用介词at 来表示在的意思。如：at nine 在九点钟，at about five thirty-five p.m. 大约在下午五点三十五分等。
