When I begin to read some original English books, I walk around the library and choose a book named The Great Gatsby. Actually, it just spent me three days to finish this book, and this is my first book in English so that I didn’t understand the true meaning of the nuclear topic .

At first, I want to introduce some episodes of this story.《The Great Gatsby》is written by the famous American writer F.Scott and it released in the 1925 year. The story was happened in the rich and upper tendom. The hero was born in the western America and ran business of stock. He then was living in Long Island as the neighbors of Gatsby. Gatsby was born in a poor family and became rich by selling wine. He always held the expensive and fashion feast to invite various guests to show his wealth. There is another important heroin I had to introduce whose name is Daisy. Daisy is Gatsby’s lover in his poor year. However, Daisy didn’t  keep in love with Gatsby but got married with another rich man named Tom. Actually, Daisy has changed her mind and became a selfish and greedy woman.

When Gatsby became rich and find the Daisy by the hero, Daisy showed her two personality between the husband Tom and former lover Gatsby. Unfortunately, Gatsby was killed by someone due to the careless behavior of Daisy. She didn’t come Gatsby’s funeral as well as others. When the hero of this book attended the funeral he decided to leave from this empty and noisy city to a new place.

After I finished this book, I actually can't understand the true purpose of this story even the meaning of “Great” in the title. If we look the influce of this book, it is obvious to the fact that this book was ranked in the second place in the most popular literature during 20^th. Furthermore, part of this book even was selected into the American textbook. It describe not only a destiny of individuals but also the “American dream”. Gatsby achieve the success in business through the illegal profit. To some extent, it reflects the false mask of American dream. We can see the conclusion Gatsby didn't love with her former lover Daisy and even lose his life. I feel pity with Gatsby. If I were him, I think I will away from her and do something more practical to find the true meaning of life.
