Reader: A lion is sleeping.

Lion: Snore! Snore! Snore!

Mouse: I’m going to wake him up.

Lion: Who’s running on my back?

Grrr! I’ve got you!

Mouse: (Squeak) Help!

Lion: I’m hungry.

Mouse: Please don’t eat me.

Lion: I’m hungry.

Mouse: (Squeak) Please let me go. Maybe one day, I’ll save yours!

Lion: Ha ha ha . You? What could you ever do to help me? Run along, Little mouse. I’m laughing too much to eat you.

Mouse: Thank you.

Scene 2 – The same place, the next day

Reader: The next day, the lion is caught in a net.  He roars for help.

Lion: Roar! Roar! Roar!

Hippo, Can you help me?

Hippo: No, I can’t help you.

Lion: Stork, can you help me?

Stork: No, I can’t help you.

Lion: Elephant, can you help me?

Elephant: No, I can’t help you.

Mouse: I can help you.

Lion: How can a little mouse help me?

Mouse: I can bite the net.

Reader: The mouse bites and bites at the net.

Lion: At last I’m free. Thank you, little mouse.

Reader: Lion is big and strong. Mouse is small, but she can help Lion.
