学英语，单词是基础。

        再有天赋的作家，都不可能在没有词库的情况下持续写出美丽的句子。

        而学单词，有一种利于记忆的方式叫词根记忆法，你可能只需要熟悉200个词根，根据英语词根的规律，就有可能认识上千甚至上万个单词。

        这是学习英语单词的一种优质的学习模式：通过领悟语言的规则，基于对词汇和规则的理解，可以看懂一个从未见过的词，说出从未听过的句子。

        美国英文学院（AAE）将通过传授一些简单的词根，帮助大家记忆单词，今天我们选用的词根是：act = to do, to drive （做；驱使）

 

1. act

n. 行为；行动；所为

v. 做事；行动；行为；举止

特别说明：act作为词根，一定要记住这个单词本身的含义。

例句：

He wants to act in concert with other nations. 

他想和其他国家采取一致行动。

2. acting [act(=to do) +ing 表示行为]

n. 表示戏剧的行为→演技

adj. 代理的，临时的，表演的，表演用的 

例句：

The acting skills of the player are gradually improving.

那位演员的演技在逐步提升。

3. active [act (=to do) +ive 形容词后缀]

adj. 活跃的；有活力的；积极的

例句：

He is very active in his class. 

他是班上的活跃分子。

4. activity [act(=to do) + ivity ( ive + ity ) 表状态]

 n. 活动；活跃；（某一团体的）活动；活动能力；活力 

例句：

Physical activity is important for health.

体育活动对保持健康很重要。

 

5. exact [ex(=out, intensive)加强 + act (=to do) ]

adj. 正确的；准确的；精密的 

v. 不断驱使；强求；迫使

例句：

It is very important for scientific research to get the exact data.

得出精确的数据，对科学研究非常重要。

6. enact [en(=make) 使… + act (=to do) ]

v. 实施，颁布

例句：

And next in this order are the institutional practices that enact them. 

以此顺序的下一个是制定目标的制度的实践。

  

7. inactive [in(=not)+ act(=to do)+ ive 形容词后缀]

adj. 不活动的，无行动的 

例句：

The volcano is inactive. 

这座火山已进入休眠状态。

8. inactivity [in(=not)+ activity活动（名词）]

n. 不活跃

例句：

Inactivity can make your joints stiff, and the bones may begin to degenerate.

长期不活动会导致关节僵硬，骨骼也可能开始退化。

9. overact [over(=excessive) 过度 + act (=to do) ]

v. 行为过火；夸张地表演 

例句：

Sometimes he had overacted in his role as Prince. 

有时候，他把王子一角演得过于夸张。

10. react [re(=back, again, against) 相反+ act (=to do)]

v. 起反应；（对……）作出反应；回应

例句：

Why did they react so strongly to the news?

为什么他们对这条新闻反应那么强烈？

11. actual [act(=to do) + ual  有...性质的，属于...的]

adj. 实际的，事实上的；现实的 

例句：

The segments are filmed using either local actors or the actual people involved.

这些片断是由当地的演员或真实的当事人参与拍摄的。

12. underact [under (=under, inferior) 级别低的+ act (=to do) ]

 v. 表演不充分

例句：

For once, he underacts and still manages to create a memorable character.

有一次，他表现欠佳，仍然设法塑造了一个令人难忘的角色。

13. interact [inter(=between) 相互+ act (=to do) ]

v. 交流；沟通；相互作用，相互影响 

例句：

You have to understand how cells interact.

你必须明白细胞是怎样相互作用的。

14. radioactive [radio(=ray) 辐射+ act (=to do)+ive形容词后缀，表示有…性质的，有…作用的]

adj. 放射性的 

例句：

我有一个坏消息，放射性水已经渗入地下蓄水层中。

15. transact [trans(=through, change)转移 + act (=to do) ]

v. 处理（事务），执行；交易
