采购专员用英语怎么说?

昨天在QQ上收到一个做外贸的学生的问题。
她问我她平时这么回复客户是否恰当:
This is Penny, purchaser. Please find
attached the PAR and two PO about office equipments,if you think
no
problem,please sign them, Thanks.
这么回复不是特别恰达,首先从句子结构上,句子太多,太繁琐。
其实这类确认邮件,可以一句话就写好。
Please complete the attached PAR and PO for
the office equipment and send (them back) to me. Thanks.
这样是不是变得更简洁,而且没有遗漏任何重要信息?
然后从语法上。
Equipment是不可数的,2台设备,要说成2
pieced of equipments.
If you think no problem是一句典型的中式英语,在这里其实可以不必加这样的意思。如果一定要说“如果你觉得没问题的话”,或许可以说成“if there are no problems, please…”
然后purchaser 改成the purchasing specialist
应该会更好。
总之,我觉得买本商务英语口语经典案例解析好好做做题,好好背背再写邮件会更顺畅。否则很多在遣词造句和内容上都不会太规范。
收到一个回复,内容如下:
purchasing specialist是采购专家,不合适
改成 merchandiser / merchandising officer 会好些
感觉回复的意见不是很妥当,又回复如下:

首先,Purchasing specialist翻译成中文不是“采购专家”,我想我们没一家企业会招聘所谓的“采购专家“据我所知,很多用人单位是把“专员”翻译成“specialist"的。ehow上也有purchasing specialist的职位描述(如下),供您参考。
至于“purchaser”,ehow上也有这个职位的定义,但是purchaser过于笼统。让人不知道对方到底是采购部门什么职位的?是总监?经理?专员?助理?还是???所以,一般用人单位都会具体注明他们要招聘什么岗位的采购人员。
在monster网站上,有招聘
1.purchasing clerk(采购文员)
2.purchasing assistant(采购助理),职责和purchasing clerk差不多,起到辅助采购员或者采购经理,好让后者专注于价格、预算等核心事项
3.purchasing agent(采购员),这个应该是我的学生所做的。她并不是一个经理,而是一个采购员。和purchasing agent意思差不多的,还有purchasing specialist或者buyer。
4.purchasing manager=采购经理。这个是领导,负责采购部门的采购和管理的。
所有这些职位,都是purchasing+特别的title。
我在帖子里也没说purchaser是错的。上面还提到了一个很类似的单词“Buyer”(买手),英文是buyer,指的是一家公司负责采购的员工。而且monster网站上就有老美发布要招purchaser/buyer这样的职位的。
很多时候,er结尾的单词,往往指的不是一个人或职位,而是一家公司/店。比如,我们在签订协议的时候,会有买方和卖方(buyer and seller),通常都是两家公司,再比如淘宝上的卖家是seller。很多人会把销售人员和卖家混淆起来,把“销售”误叫成“seller”
很难理解为什么要改为merchandiser,merchandiser是外贸业务员,业务跟单的意思,和做采购是两个不同的职位。

Essential Functions

Minimum qualifications
The minimum qualifications for the job are two to three years of purchasing experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a business or related field. They must have the ability to collect and analyze data to propose solutions to department related problems. They must also be able to work alone or in groups to get tasks completed.
Responsibilities
This position is usually responsible for purchasing equipment and supplies, and negotiating rates for those supplies. They will be tasked with researching all suppliers to ensure the best equipment is procured for the lowest price. They will need to assist with keeping track of budget expenditures. A purchasing specialist also will be tasked with catching discrepancies within invoices and researching them. Finally, this position may be a leadership position and, in turn, will require supervision of employees
Working Environment
Purchasing specialists usually work in a loading dock environment. There will be some physical demands, including lighting heavy objects, carrying, pushing and pulling, and other physical actions requiring some dexterity. Overall, this job will mostly consisting of sitting with periods of standing, walking and physical work.
