Mystery plays and Miracle plays are among the earliest formally developed plays in medieval Europe. Medieval mystery plays focused on the representation of Bible stories in churches as tableaux with accompanying antiphonal song..

 

Farce:

Farce is a ludicrous exaggeration of comic actions. Usually defined as “high improbable actions and situations”,farce is better unsterstood as a dramatic technique that permits the author to show, without concern for realism,human foolishness and ineffectiveness. It is quite closely related to parody.

 

Morality plays:

A kind od drama with personified abstract qualities as the main characters and presenting a lesson about good conduct and character , popular in the 15^th and early 16^th.

 

Comic relief:

Comic episodes in a drama or literary work that offset more serious sections. A character or characters providing this. Comical episodes that serve to release tension in a real life .

 

Denouement:

The final part of a play,movie,or narrative in which the strands of the plot are drawn together and matters are explained or resolved. The climax of a chain of events, usually when something is decided or made clear

 

Foreshadowing: 铺垫

Foreshadowing is a literary technique used by many different authors to provide clues for the reader to be able to predict what might occur later on in the story.

 

Falling action：

The falling action is the part of a story, usually found in tragedies and short stories, after the climax and showing the effects of the catastrophe. The action in a play or story that occurs after the climax and that leads to the conclusion and often to the resolution.
