I think of thee! -- my thoughts do twine and bud
想你！—缠缠绕绕，绵绵情思，                                   
   About thee, as wild vines, about a tree,
   如萌芽的野藤，攀树缠丝，                  
   Put out broad leaves, and soon there's nought to see
   阔叶繁茂，日渐隐隐蔽之，                  
Except the straggling green which hides the wood.
只见那树林中绿荫丰姿。                                                  
Yet, O my palm-tree①, be it understood
然而，我的棕榈哟，你可知?
   I will not have my thoughts instead of thee
   失去更亲的你—我心痴痴!
   Who art dearer, better! Rather, instantly
   多想立刻见你风雅君子。
Renew thy presence. As a strong tree should
像棵大树沙沙摇曳树枝，

Rustle thy boughs and set thy trunk all bare,
风吹你的树干，满目凋零，
   And let these bands of greenery which insphere thee,
   让青枝绿叶裹你成球形，
Drop heavily down, ... burst, shattered, everywhere!
重重掉下，……满地绽落纷纷！
   Because, in this deep joy to see and hear thee
   由于，你的音容沉醉我心，
And breathe within thy shadow a new air,
在你幻影，呼吸空气清新，
  I do not think of the -- I am too near thee.

  我不再想你—因离你太近。

我想你！---我的情思缠绕着你，
在你周身发芽，正如疯长的藤蔓缠绕着一棵树，
展开硕大的绿叶，不多时，满眼只见，
蔓延的翠绿掩映于林木。
可是，哦，我的棕榈树，你当不言而喻，
我不会只想你而放弃拥有你，
实体的你更亲密，更美好，我宁愿你立即，
再现于我眼前，宛如一颗结实的树，
摇撼树枝沙沙作响，裸露全部的躯干，
让你身上的簇簇翠绿的叶子，
纷纷坠落…四处炸开，粉碎！
因为，看到你听到你，在你的荫影里，
呼吸到清新的空气，我沉浸在强烈的欣喜之中，
我不想你---我的身紧贴你的身。
