Recently, space exploration has successfully attracted increasing public attention. Moreover, some people even exaggerate the significance of such technological development and insist that space exploration is imperative for present and future generations. As for me, we should focus on solving our current problems at hand first.

Admittedly, space exploration is marvelous to human, it should not undergo at the expense of the present. The dreams of exploring space are a luxury that we cannot afford. Specifically, our world is marred by war, famine and poverty; millions of people are struggling simply to survive from day to day. Hence, instead of wasting our time and effort on prestige projects such as the space programme, we must set ourselves new targets to tackle various problems at hand first.

Furthermore, some space programmes have of course had a beneficial effect on our world, however, there is a huge difference between launching satellites into Earth orbit and exploring space. Missions to other planets, and into interstellar space, do not contribute to life on our planet. Moreover, some satellites are largely commercial, being launched by private companies, maintained by the profits which they lead to. True space exploration could never be commercial, and requires huge government subsidies, which are supposed to be much better spent elsewhere.

In spite of partial advantages brought by space exploration，some ignore the fact that exploring the distant space is virtually going at the expense of the present, and insist that this is so-called future investment. However, they hardly realize that such exploration indeed costs too much and exceeds our actual abilities.

In sum, the space exploration distracts our focus by slicing tremendous energy and manpower into a remote dream. Even though the dream is amazing, it is not the primary task confronting us at this moment.
