在《新概念英语》第二册第35课中出现了一个句型：The one with the money got such a fright that he dropped the money.这个句子中的重点短语在于“so…that…”，这是中考的一个重要考点之一。这个考点的主要出题目的是考查学生对“so…that…”以及“such…that…”的理解和区分。很多考生由于不理解它们之间的用法，因此在考试中常常丢分。现在我们不妨通过口诀记忆的方法来透析这两个词组的区别。

光棍“形副”紧跟so，

单身名词跟such；

若是形名同出现，

名词决定其权限，

复数或是不可数，

such就会来做主，

遇到可数且单数，

such与so换位置；

若是名前有“多少”，

只须用上so就好。

口诀解读：

(1)so这个单词的最基本用法就是：so+形容词/副词，而such的基本用法则是such+名词（该名词前无形容词修饰）。

【例句】

The weather is so bad today that we have to put off the football match.

The thief got such a fright that he dropped the bag.

(2)如果形容词修饰名词构成名词短语的形式出现，则由名词的性质来决定such及so的用法。

特点一：不可数名词或可数名词的复数形式使用such；

【例句】

Here is such secret information that nobody else can know it.

They are such beautiful pictures that I want to buy all of them.

特点二：可数名词的单数形式such与so都可以用上，结构为：such+a/an+adj+n或so+adj+a/an+n。

【例句】

Tom is so annoying a student that the teacher gets angry with him all the time.

Tom is such an annoying student that the teacher gets angry with him all the time.

(3)若名词前面出现many/much/little/few这四个表数量的单词一律只能用so，此时不会受到其后名词的影响。

【例句】

I can’t believe such a small bird can eat so much food.

这样一来，当我们碰到“so…that…”以及”such…that..”的题目时，只需要按照上边的“口诀”，就能够以不变应万变，轻松解题。
