Ⅰ. Teaching objectives:

1. Enable to master the new words and the new language structures of this unit.

2. Enable to talk about the weekend activities.

   3. Enable to and express the wishes by “want to do”   

   4. Make Ss identify the differences weekend fun between Chinese people and the foreign friends.

Ⅱ. Teaching aims: Master the new words and sentence structure.

   1.New words: go to the park, see a movie, play outside, read a story, make a snowman, surf the Internet

   2.Sentence structure:

    What do you want to do?    I want to....

    Do you want to...?         Sure.(Yes, I do.)/ Not really. (No, I don’t.)

Ⅲ.Teaching key points:

   1.Enable to read and write the new words correctly and fluently.

   2.Express the wishes for doing sth he/she wants.

Ⅳ.Teaching difficult points:

    1. Outside and its contains many activities.

    2. Surf the Internet.(one of the ways to play computer).

    3.Ask and answer the wishes.

Ⅴ.Teaching aids: PPT, writing notes and word cards.

 

Ⅵ.Teaching procedure:

Step 1 Warm up

1.T asks Ss about their weekend activities by asking “What do you do on Sunday?”

Ss may talk about many activities and T write them on the blackboard.

T: They’re all your weekend fun.

 

(The title for Unit8 Weekend Fun is come up with)

Step 2   Presentation.

    T introduces some of the Ss’.

1. By showing some pictures of some Ss,  the teacher leads out the sentence structure learned before.

A: What do you want?

B: I want a computer game. Do you want a computer game?

A: Yes, I do. (Yes, please.) / No, I don't.

(Review the sentence structure learned last tern.)

 

A: What do you want?

B: I want a toy bear.       

A: What do you want to do?

B: I want to play a toy bear.

(Make a comparison between “want”and “want to do”)

 

2. What do you want to do? I want to ... (Drill the sentence structure well)

go to the park (go to Haibin Park/ Shi Jingshan Park/ Bai Liandong Park)

 

3.play outside (Explore some other outdoor activities, such as play soccer, fly kites, play games, play basketball, play model planes)

4.Read a story (read stories)

  Do you want to read a story?

  Sure.(Yes, i do.) / Not really. (No, i don’t.)

5.See a movie, make a snowman (Can you make a snowman in summer/ winter)

6.What do they want to do? They want to surf the Internet.

  Do they want to surf the Internet?

  Sure. / Yes, they do.Not really./ No, they don't.

Step 3  Review and Game

1.Review the key words.

2. Flash eye

(Answer in sentences rather than just a word or a phrase.)

 

Step4   Drill.

1.Passing pictures

Passing 5 pictures into the class, Ss learn to ask and answer the Q and A below to pass the them.

A: What do you want to do?

B:I want to ...

2.Do a survey and get the signature

Ss ask and answer the conversation below to get the signature.

A:Do you want to...?

B: Sure./ Not really.

Step 5  Writing

T: Now you’ve known our friends’ weekend fun, do you want to know Miss Huang’s weekend fun:

My  weekend fun

Hi, I’m Miss Huang. This is my Sunday.

In the  morning, I want to ride a bike.

In the afternoon, I want to play outside with my grandmother .  

In the evening, I want to cook dinner with my family.

 I will have a happy day.

What about your weekend?

 

Ss finish the paper notes and write their own weekend fun.

Step 6 Exploration

   Show some pictures and talk about the foreigner’ weekend and Chinese weekend.

Step 7 Moral Education

study while you study. Play while you play.Work in this way. Happy all the day.

Make good use of your weekend.

Step8 Homework:

1.copy the words and make dialogues.

Eg:

go to the park

         A: What do you want to do?

         B: I want to go to the park.   Do you want to go to the park?

          A: Sure. / Yes, I do.

            Not really. / No, I don't.
