        To a university student who is doomed to go to the society to realize himself, which is more important—an education or a social life? Read the excerpts carefully and write your response in about 300 words, in which you should:

                                     Which Counts More，Education or Social Life？

        For a university student, which is more important—education or social life? Those who favor education say that it ensures a better job and a higher intelligence as education gets students ready for their future. Opponents think that students can become well-connected through social life, which can be helpful for their future jobs. Still others think education and social life are interconnected by pointing out that university is a social life. 

        At the very beginning of freshman semester, various clubs spring up on college campuses, which can be viewed as a miniature of students’ busy social life. A close look may give you more impression that a clamor for glamor is quite common not only in society but also in the ivory towers. However, in my view, for university students, more value should be attached to education rather than social life. 

        It is true that as guided by the market, university students should enhance certain social skills. Good connection with people ensures the chances of getting more tips on almost every aspect of life, such as social requirements and employment prospects. However, an open sesame brought by these communicative trinkets doesn’t necessarily mean that they are qualified for their positions. Education, on the contrary, nourishes not only their expertise in certain fields, but the overall intelligence with which they can get more opportunities for promotion. When at school, aloofness from razzmatazz and focusing on study is in itself a touchstone of one’s discipline and self-control. These treasure troves will in turn evolve into huge assets in one’s future life. 

        To summarize, the bedlam of social life may serve some purposes, but a solid foundation of knowledge prompted by education is the ace in the hole. When all the clamors peter out eventually, the real glamor will illuminate life with ever brighter luster.
