经朋友的推荐，我在网上准备搜电影《岁月神偷》来看看，结果收获颇多。电影还未看先得到首好听的歌I wanna be free. 令我吃惊的是这首歌是门基乐队（The Monkees）唱的。这让我马上回想起刚教了不久必修2Unit5 Music 的阅读课，里面刚好介绍的就是门基乐队。

  人教版的高一英语课本里面有这样一段话"However, there was one band that started in a different way. It was called the Monkees and began as a TV show. The musicians were to play jokes on each other as well as play music, most of which was based loosely on the Beatles. The TV organizers had planned to find four musicians who could act as well as sing. They put an advertisement in a newspaper looking for rock musicians, but they could only find one who was good enough. They had to use actors for the other three members of the band."

  之前听过他们的一首歌，觉得很一般。呵呵现在有这个I wanna be free 相信学生会在学习他们时展现更多的兴趣。

门基乐队是一只美国本土乐队，由四人组成，于二十世纪60年代兴起，最初，乐队成员是应一则电视广告走到一起的。
电视制作人想寻找四位很活跃又很会演奏的乐手。他们在报上登了广告，想招摇滚乐手，但是只招到一位符合条件的——也就是后来的乐队主唱弗雷迪。
乐队的其他人只能用演员，演员不会唱，因此起初演节目时由别的歌手唱歌，而乐队其他成员假唱。
门基乐队开始每个星期都要演唱由别的音乐家作的一两首歌曲。
然而，经过大约一年，门基乐队逐渐对他们的工作严肃起来，他们像一支真正的乐队开始用自己的乐器演奏，并且自己作词作曲了。
后来他们还出了自己的唱片，并开始旅行演出自己的乐曲。
门基乐队虽然有模仿“甲壳虫乐队”的意思，但他们甚至比“甲壳虫”乐队还要受欢迎，出售的录音专辑还要多。
他们在英国的旅行演出同样获得了巨大成功，英国的年轻人也开始对The monkees变得疯狂然而，门基乐队在1970年左右解散了，到80年代中期才又重组起来。
1996年他们出了一张新的专辑，庆祝他们一起合作的愉快时光。
