On Love and Marriage

如果你很想要一样东西，就要舍得放弃。如果她回来找你，就会永远属于你；如果它不回来，那么它根本就不是你的。

（能够随时都能用对像“If …,  …”这样司空见惯的句型也不简单哦。）

幸福的家庭都是相似的，不幸的家庭各有各的不幸。

（这句话可以派生出其他表达：Happy school lives are all alike; every unhappy school life is unhappy in its own way. 另外，注意alike作为形容词, like作为动词,. Like作为介词的区别。）

3. You make me want to be a better man. (As good as it gets, 尽善尽美)

你使我想成为一个更出色的人。

4. The fear of dying without ever knowing love was greater than the fear of death itself. (Anna Karenia, 安娜卡列尼娜)

死，并不可怕，真正可怕的是没有真正爱过就死了。

恋人们对彼此犯下的错都不会忘记。假如他们仍在一起，不是因为忘记，而是因为彼此原谅。

（It’s not because …. It’s because …这个句式很经典哦。）

6. The great ambition of women is to inspire love. (Death on the Nile, 尼罗河上的惨案)

女人最大的心愿就是有人爱她。（电影中，大侦探Paul的破案十分精彩，真相大白后，那对谋财害命的同命鸳鸯却自杀身亡，让我感慨万千。Paul在故事的结尾道出了这句莫里哀的名言，意味深长。。）

7. There are some things worth having, but they come at a price, and I want to be one of them. (Out of Africa, 走出非洲)

有些东西值得拥有，但要付出代价，我想成为其中之一。

（at a price以相当高的价格，at any price不惜任何代价，without price极其贵重的/无价的）
